At the Geneva Motor Show three weeks ago, BMW gave a first preview of the upcoming M135i in Concept form. Today, we’re happy to share the first clear spyshots of the M135i production version currently being tested on the Nürburgring. Dual tailpipes and the trademark M Performance wheels give this model away. The M135i will be the next model introduced to the new line of M Performance Automobiles, which already includes the M550d and X5/X6 M50d models.

Powered by a 320hp version of the N55 3.0-litre inline 6, the M135i will be the fastest 1-series currently available. We’ve seen some major conversions and projects from our 1 series owners and this is one of the best yet. One 1ADDICTS member has taken his E82 120d and converted it into a 1M-bodied car with the S65 V8 engine from the M3!!

In addition to the engine transplant, the car had to have custom bodywork on rear fenders, 1M body panels fitted, M3/1M suspension fitted, exhaust made to fit the new body, and 1M 19″ wheels. The icing on the cake was retrofitting the second generation i-Drive.

Check out its photos and videos inside.

The M135i Concept has debuted at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow. It previews the upcoming M135i, the next vehicle which will join the ranks of BMW’s new M Performance vehicle lineup (in addition to the already revealed M550d and X5/X6 M50d). It also represents the first petrol/gasoline M Performance model. If that’s not enough firsts, this concept is also the first official look at the F21 3-door hatchback.

No specs have been released on the M135i yet, but BMW has printed that it employs a straight six-cylinder petrol power plant featuring M Performance Twin Power Turbo technology with a power output of more than 300 hp.
