Here’s one of the first reviews of the BMW 335i Performance Edition Retrofit Kit, which is a factory tune which retains the factory warranty. Horsepower increase from 300 to 320, torque increase from 300 to 317ft-lbs for a manual transmission, and to 332 for automatic transmission. This all results in 0.2 seconds faster acceleration time than the standard factory model from 80 to 100 km/h and 0.5 seconds faster acceleration time than the standard factory model from 80 to 120km/h. The Performance Edition Kit can also be retrofitted on the 135i.

The once-every-two-year Frankfurt IAA auto show is nearly upon us. Press coverage will begin Tuesday, September 13. Here is a preview of the headline BMW debuts headed for Frankfurt.

BMW has released the first official photos of the F20 1 series Performance Accessories Study. It’s a showcase vehicle used to introduce the new line of BMW Accessories for the 2012 F20 1 series. No official details yet describing all the parts fitted, but clearly seen are: BMW Performance front and rear bumpers/diffuser which are more aggressively styled than the F20 M-Sport front bumper, sideskirts, black grilles, carbon fiber mirror covers, performance stripes, 19″ Performance wheels, and BMW Performance brakes.

The interior features BMW performance steering wheel (alcantara/carbon fiber), alcantara trim, pedals, floor mats, shift knob and boot.

A new BMW 2 series coupe render has been posted, courtesy of Autoexpress. Although this render may give us an idea as to the general shape, size, and proportions, the BMW 2-series coupe is expected to have a significantly different look (particularly the front end) than the F20 1-series hatchback upon which this render is clearly based.

There will be no next generation 1-series coupe and convertible, as they will take on the 2-series badge instead. The 2 series coupe is expected as early as sometime in 2013.

Some days ago, we brought you spyshots of a special F20 1-series. With some help from our resident insider Scott26 we could identify that car as a BMW Performance 1-series.

Today, we’re happy to share the first photos of the final car, the “BMW Performance Studie 1-series”. BMW apparently showed this car during their dealer presentation taking place in Frankfurt, and three shots magically made it to our inbox. You can see the Performance front and rear bumpers which appear to be even more aggressively styled than the F20 M-Sport front bumper.
