We’ve yet to see as radical a 1-series based racer as this one by rem-power. The super wide fenders/track transforms the 1-series into a squat & aggressive racing machine. 1addicts members are salivating over the look!

German magazine Automotorundsport has put out these new renders of what the next generation 1-series could look like. It seems as though these renders are WAY off the reality of what will come. Most sources seem to confirm that the next one will take alot of styling cues from the BMW GINA concept car in some form, while these renders seem to rely on the current BMW 7-Series styling. Regardless, it did seem like an interesting attempt and worth the post.

The heralded BMW 135i Coupe is set to take on the muscle of Albert Park at this year’s 2009 Australian Grand Prix.
A specially equipped 135i Coupe, bearing the famed tii livery and featuring BMW Performance gear, will take part in the Ultimate Speed Comparison.
A race between a V8 Supercar, fully prepared BMW Sauber Formula 1 car and road going BMW 135i Coupe, the Ultimate Speed Comparison is a crowd favourite which pits three high performance forms of motoring against each other in a one lap race to the finish line.

Summary: turbo 4 and 6 cylinder engines are going to be an M staple along with a focus on lightweight. Gone will be the days of large displacement and high horsepower engines

Ever since I was young it was a dream of mine to have my car in a magazine. When my last one was part of a small feature I thought that was awesome. Never did I think I would make it to the cover page though. I would like to thank Active Autowerke, without them this wouldnt have been possible, and my car would not be nearly as much fun to drive. Also photographer and editor Helmut Werb for writing this article and taking the awesome pics, again it would not have been possible with out him. Lastly I would like to thank my friend Omar Murray who is also featured in this article. His car is wicked and I hope one day to have an M3 as bad ass … CONTINUED
