German tuner Hartge has released its tuning program and cosmetic upgrades for the 1 series M coupe.
For more power, the Hartge ECU tune for the 1M’s N54 engine paired with its sports exhaust system pushes the 1M’s power from the factory 335hp/332lb-ft to 396hp and 391lb-ft torque.
The resulting real-world performance increase? According to Hartge, their 1M goes from 0-200kmh (124mph) in 11.34 seconds (a 2.18 second increase over the factory 1M’s 13.52 seconds). On top of that, there’s an increase in efficiency of 0.5L/km less consumption … CONTINUED
BMW Car Magazine undertakes a fraternal twins rivalry comparison in pitting HP Autowerks’ BMW 1M coupe against its tuned 135i coupe.
The tuned 135i coupe is equipped with DCT transmission and tuned to be 400+ HP / 420 lb-ft torque with piggyback tune, intake tubing, M3 suspension arms/bushings, coilovers, and exhaust system.

Studie is perhaps the most well known Japanese tuner of BMWs with their generally reserved, but still attactive modified cars. They’ve now undertaken their project 1M coupe and the first aspects they’ve tackled is the handling and reducing unsprung weight.
They’ve fitted the 1M with KW Clubsport suspension and replaced the factory wheels with 19″ BBS RI-D wheels, which weigh just 15.9 F / 16.5 R pounds, a saving of 40.8 pounds of unsprung weight over the stock wheels!

Check out this first matte finished BMW 1M coupe! It’s been wrapped in a matte gray Lamborghini color and the wheels have been sprayed Nogaro Silver for a darker gunmetal effect to match the new gray color of the car.

Revozport has released real life images of its BMW 1M coupe Raze Kit. RevoZport claims a weight reduction of 60kg (132lb) from the entire kit, which is no insignificant amount of weight saved. That figure improves the 1M coupe’s power-to-weight ratio from 9.8lb/hp to 9.36lb/hp.

Official preliminary specs on the Akrapovic exhaust systems for the BMW 1M Coupe have finally been released by Akrapovic, at the 2011 Frankfurt IAA. There are two exhaust systems available – an axle back and a cat back system. The preliminary figures indicate a +15hp / +19Nm tq gain, with a 16kg weight reduction over the factory 1M exhaust system. Videos, pics, specs are inside.
German tuning company Manhart Racing has now unveiled its MH1 Biturbo, which showcases their 1M coupe customization program.
The Manhart 1M coupe generates 415hp via an ECU software tune, custom exhaust system (3,799 euro) with stainless steel silencers (1,890 euro), and downpipes (799 euro).
To compliment the extra performance, the 1M has been given more a aggressive look with a full aero kit. The aero kit includes a carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, and mirror covers.

The AC Schnitzer 1M Coupe has debuted at the Frankfurt IAA. The ACS 1M tuning program includes aerodynamic, performance, and handling ugprades. The 1M’s power has been bumped up to 400hp (from 340hp) with an ECU software tune.
Cosmetic upgrades include a carbon fiber front lip spoiler, metal lower grille, vented hood, extra side fender gill, rear roof spoiler, carbon fiber rear trunk spoiler lip, and carbon fiber rear bumper diffuser.

Eisenmann’s long-anticipated BMW 1M exhaust system has now been released and 1ADDICTS member biglare’s 1M is the first lucky 1M to make use of the Eisenmann Race downpipe back system. Shortly after landing in IND’s warehouse, the 1M exhaust prototype box made it’s way to San Diego, the exhaust system made it’s way out of the box and finally Eisenmann’s 83mm tips made their way under biglare’s 1M’s beautiful rear valence. Advanced Performance Parts (APP) joins the bevy of tuners having a crack at tuning the BMW 1M coupe. The first dyno results and review of the ESS Directflash Stage 1 flash tune for the BMW 1M coupe are in. Based on using the standard 15-18% drivetrain loss the car stock is making about 370 HP and the stage 1 tune is making about 410 HP. Stage 2 of their tune is in the works. Dyno graphs and more feedback from member biglare can be seen inside.
AC Schnitzer’s development of a BMW 1M coupe tuning program is underway. They join tuners such as Revozport, Kelleners Sport, TechTec, and others who have sought to put their own custom touches on the small monster M. That so many tuners are developing parts for a short run car such as the 1M coupe is a testament to its appeal as a true enthusiasts’ car.
