In AutoBild’s latest issue they have a nice photo spread on BMW’s new M100 sports car. There will be even a “green” model called the “BMW i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid”.
The M100 will compete with Audi’s R8 V10 and MB’s SLS. AutoBild reports that BMW will show the M100 at the 2011 IAA (Frankfurt Auto Show). Production will start two years later, in 2013. The car will cost MORE than 100,000 euros. The magazine says the M100 will cost a good 170K euros! Planned production numbers are 35,000 units over five year product life. 450 PS (Hp) and a little as 3L per 100kph (86 mpg!) with the i100 model.

While visiting the famed Nurburgring, our own forum member Dackelone decided to hang around ring side and snap a few photos (you can see his entire Nurburgring trip thread here), and what he cought here is quite interesting.
This looks to be a Deep Sea Blue BMW X1 which was fit with an engine sounding like the new turbo inline 6 cylinder engine from BMW that is making its way through the entire -35i lineup (aka the N55). Not only was this car fit with the N55, but it was wearing orange turn signals in the front headlights, something not yet seen on an X1, and something that could only be needed for a US spec vehicle.

BMW of Australia has announced a new speed limit detection and warning system which will use BMW sat nav data and compare your current speed with the posted speed limits in your area and then send out a warning to you if youve mistakenly gone above said limits.
How does ths system know what the speed limits are exactly? Well using cameras mounted on the side mirrors of course Once the camera picks up the speed limit from a road sign, the information is displayed for the driver and also sent to the OBC to compare to your current speed.
