It’s official! BMW officials at the Gran Coupe Welt premier have acknowledged that this concept car will join the coupe and cabrio in the next 6-series lineup. We have been told that it will be marketed as the “6-series Gran Coupe” and will be BMW’s first sedan “coupe,” to take on the likes of the MB CLS and Porsche Panamera.

BMW is releaseing a series of videos surrounding the all new BMW X3. The videos first started with the exterior of the X3 but have now moved onto the inside detailing some of whats new in the X3 and certainly gives us a glimpse into the overall increase in quality and style from the previous generation X3.

The BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team has arrived in Lakeville, CT, for the July 24th Round 5 of the 2010 American Le Mans Series. The Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park will begin this Saturday at 2:05pm Eastern Time and will be broadcast live on SPEED Television.

With five podium finishes in the first four races of the season, BMW now leads the GT Manufacturer points race. BMW M3 GT co-drivers Bill Auberlen and Tommy Milner, along with Joey Hand and Dirk Müller, stand third and fourth in GT Driver points, respectively.

BMW is the exclusive vehicle partner of the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games and it will be using this position to showcase its Megacity electric cars, in nearly production form. The global viewership and exposure of the Olympics presents BMW with a unique opportuity to showcase the Megacity car on a huge global scale.

The only Megacity car variation shown so far is a carbon fiber passenger cell, 4-seat, rear wheel drive, 100% electric vehicle, with its motor underneath the vehicle floor. Future The Megacity line of vehicles is expected to become a sub-brand (perhaps reviving the Isetta nameplate) under the BMW moniker and will likely be on sale in 2013.

Now that the 2012 X3 has been officially announced and shown by BMW, X3s are free to roam the streets naked, without their constricting and stuffy camouflage coverings. Spotted here in Munich are black and white X3s, the first real life photos of uncovered 2012 X3’s.
