New 2012 BMW F30 and F32 3-series Coupe and Sedan Renders
Posted on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010 at 7:15 pm by Jason

Here are some new renders of the next generation 2012 F30/F32 3-series coupe and sedan. Like the current generation, the coupe and sedan will continue to sport unique designs. The next generation 3-series is expected to grow slightly in size and wheelbase, but feature even shorter overhangs to preserve its sporty stance and style. The front fascia is expected to become more upright, consistent with BMW's latest design language seen in the current Z4, F10 5-series, and F01 7-series.
The F32 3 series coupe is expected to share some design elements with the new 6-series coupe, such as sculptured flanks, low roof line, and possibly the turn indicators located under front headlights. It will also have wider and lower kidney grilles than the current E92 coupe.
Engine options will include a full range of turbo and naturally aspirated 6-cylinder motors, 4-cylinder motors, and possibly even a new 3-cylinder motor.
The F30 3-series sedan will make its world public debut at the 2012 Geneva Autoshow in March of 2012. The F32 coupe will be unveiled a year later in 2013.

Honestly, these renders seem like they could be somewhat accurate based on what we've seen with the spy photos and new 6 series.

Agreed. I think this model will look much better as a coupe.

the more BMW's get curvy, the more i seem to like the older boxy E30's and E36's.

On these renders, you can see the lower front bumper treatment is a lot more like the LCI e92 bumper with two distinct horizontal sections.
When I first saw the LCI, I definitely preferred the pre-LCI version that integrated the lines down from the kidney grills.....but now that I have an LCI coupe...it's really grown on me and I can see some of the design logic. Looks like BMW feels the same way about that if these renders are anywhere close to reality.
Are the dates correct? The coupe coming out in 2013? All this time I've harbored doubts about buying my e92 on the basis that a new one is around the corner...but if march 2013 is correct...it's perfect for me...in Taipei showrooms around late 2013 early 2014...just in time when my 4 year old e92 is going to be moving on.

Too much 5er in these representations.
As for the F30 have a look at
Jon Sibal's rendering it is perhaps the closest to the look of the car.
With the Coupe it inherits a smoother more sporting profile the typical character line sweeps down the side shallower from the rear but widens as it comes to the front wings.
The typical design feature of the slash in the lower flanks is placed in the middle of the car with the bow and stern being evident before the wheel arches. Enhancing the broadness of the car from both the front and rear.
The headlights are like todays car - faired in to the corner with the light cover flicking up at the kidney grille. Indicators now join the car underneath the headlights like the 6er. A wide mouth but shallower than the sedan represents the lower intake. With 6er style LED's placed at the top of each corner.
The new 3er Coupe aims to bring a continuity from the 6er and is a significant part of BMW's Premium Entry strategy.

those bumpers are terrible. They just ruin the rest of the car.
