BMW participated in the 2011 National Aftersales Convention in Las Vegas at the end of March where they put on a live driving event to showcase the entire range of BMW Performance parts offerings. The event provided a back-to-back driving experience comparing regular factory cars and models fitted with BMW Performance parts. BMW has been aggressive in developing and advancing technologies to increase energy management in its cars. The BMW navigation system may soon become a smart and integral part of these systems.
BMW is working on a new energy management system where the idea is to utilize the navigation system. The navigation would use an inputted address and plot out the route that is most energy efficient, as well as scheduling the car’s energy management activities and timing to maximize efficiency.
As an example, the on board computer could schedule the starter battery’s recharge using brake regenerative energy during a downhill portion of the trip, when the load on the engine is light.

Here’s the first great look at an alpine white 1M coupe next to a mineral white M3 coupe. Both are beautiful in their own way, with the 1M coupe taking on a boxier, more overtly aggressive look, while the M3’s lines and bulges are sleeker and more discrete. One thing we’re sure of - the owners of each love their car!
Now that the BMW Concept M5 has been shown to the public, BMW has basicly unwrapped their test fleet of M5s– because we all know the shape. The benefit of that for us is that we get a preview of the M5 in a variety of colors, and so far we’ve gotten to see the car in Silver and White. Other popular colors such as Monte Carlo Blue have been shown off in the past, but unfortunatly with the body cladding still on the car.

BMW said on Monday it will invest around 1 billion euros ($1.44 billion) to expand production capacity in China as it seeks to capture surging sales growth in the world’s biggest auto market.
BMW is almost doubling its initially planned investment and production capacity at the new plant in Tiexi in the Shenyang will rise to around 200,000 euros over the medium term, BMW said on Monday.
Together with capacity improvements at its Da Dong facility, this will result in potential to make 300,000 vehicles in the long term, it added.
