We’ve stacked the F10 M5 up against the E63 AMG and CTS-V, but there are other cars in the segment which warrant further comparison, namely the Porsche Panamera Turbo/S and the Jaguar XF-R.

This comparison covers cars from a wide range of prices - from $80,000 to $173,000, but on paper the performance specs and owner demographics are close enough to compare. Again, the real tests will come from test drives, reviews, and direct comparos of the M5 against its rivals.

BMW F30 3-series continues testing and a black test mule was recently photographed. This prototype wears the same camouflage level as the recently spotted F30 sedans, but its black paint set against the camouflage tape shows off the car’s lines better than a lighter color.

Squared off LED halos adorn the front headlights on this particular model, and overall the front headlights look to have a stylish and aggressive shape, as on the F10 5-series. Low and wide kidney grilles sit at the front at a sleek and sloping hood.

The F30’s side double character lines are again evident in the looks of the car from the sides. These double lines should give the F30 a distinctive look among current model BMWs, as it’s a styling element not … CONTINUED

Last week, MINI gave everyone a preview of the new Coupe with only light camoflage, but now, some intreprid photogs have caught the new coupe in the flesh, out of the factory and with no masking what-so-ever.

Everything here is as expected, which is a good thing. It means MINI stuck close to the script which was written back when the original concept first came out.

These two photos from CAR Magazine, show the sporty MINI with production paint and the typical MINI stripes, these extra features really let the car go that extra mile. In the first photo you can also make out the retractable spoiler, which is nicely integrated onto the production vehicle.

Expect the MINI Coupe in or around October 2011!

Now that the Official F10 M5 Production stats and specs have been revealed, the natural question is how it compares to its most direct competitors. We undertake this comparison below, with a photo and specs shootout against two of the M5’s biggest rivals — the 2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan.

As some might not know yet, Mercedes-Benz has recently announced the use of their new 5.5L twin turbo V8 for the E63 beginning this Fall. We’ve used this new engine’s specs to provide the most up-to-date comparison possible.

On paper, the super sedans are pretty evenly matched. The differences will come in the driving experience and real world test results. As BMW traditionally underrates their power figures, we expect the F10 M5’s real … CONTINUED

BMW has a good habit of keeping its production vehicles very close to their concept forms. This holds true with the just revealed F10 M5 as well, which is extremely close to its concept form. The only visual difference we spot by sight is the sleeker/smaller mirrors which were not present on the concept M5 and the more aggressive sideskirts on the production M5. The wheels are simply a silver version of the gloss black wheels on the concept M5.

We’ve put together a set of comparison photos to illustrate just how close the two designs are. For full details on the production F10 M5 so far, see the official thread.

As if the X6M did not already have enough power, an even higher powered BMW X6 M model has just been spied testing in Germany!

This is the ’special X6M’ which SCOTT26 referred to yesterday. So far, it features a massive hood air scoop and what appears to be taped up air extractor outlets (cosmetic only?) flanking the scoop. The sideskirts are also a more aggressive design than the regular X6M.

The current X6M already boasts 555hp. Could we possibly see 600hp or more in this even higher powered X6M? Taking guesses on the final power numbers, so chime in.
