The BMW 5 Series will turn the big 30 this year and BMW has a special edition F10 to mark the occassion. The 528i 30th Anniversary Edition has just gone on sale in Japan.

Only 200 of these 528i 30th Anniversary Edition F10s will come off the line. It’s powered by BMW’s inline 6 3.0L motor (not the 4 cylinder turbo N20 motor).

This deep sea blue metallic 528i is packaged with the M sport package, BMW Individual aluminum window trim, Veneto Beige dakota leather, Satin Walnut Wood Fine Honey Brown Individual trim , door sill plates engraved with the 30th anniversary logo, head-up display, and premium audio system (600W 16 speaker 5.1 surround).

The price for the Japanese? 7,890,000 yen (USD $103,400 equivalent).

Every year, the crew at IND makes their annual pilgrimage to Germany not to simply take a trip or take a vacation, but to remember why they work at IND - to reaffirm their commitment and love for sports cars.

As before, this year’s trip took them from Eisenmann’s Stuttgart based manufacturing facility, to the Frankfurt IAA, to the Nurburgring. Check out the German automotive adventure they have along the way in their excellent journal inside.

M-power.com has posted a feature on the world’s first and only exclusive BMW M dealership - located in Singapore. Follow the feature inside.

The plan was to raise the number of BMW M automobiles sold in Singapore tenfold – and that in only two years.

Both BMW Group Asia and Anthony Chan, Managing Director of Munich Automobiles in Singapore, believed in the potential of BMW M in the world of high performance cars.

As such, work began on the implementation of a concept that was unique in the world - the world’s first dedicated BMW M dealership.

As exclusive as this approach is also the service, which Munich Automobiles has been offering prospective and actual buyers of M automobiles since it first opened its doors in July 2010.

Autocar’s Steve Sutcliffe reviews the 2012 BMW F10 M5 on video, giving us some excellent visual and audio of the F10 M5 experience. He’s overall impressed and sums up by calling the new M5 still a proper lunatic’s car. We like that!

Official preliminary specs on the Akrapovic exhaust systems for the BMW 1M Coupe have finally been released by Akrapovic, at the 2011 Frankfurt IAA. There are two exhaust systems available - an axle back and a cat back system. The preliminary figures indicate a +15hp / +19Nm tq gain, with a 16kg weight reduction over the factory 1M exhaust system. Videos, pics, specs are inside.

How Fast is a 530hp | 442 lb-ft V10 Powered BMW Z3 to 211mph? This custom Z3 race car which we previously featured shows just how staggeringly fast it is.

Many 18 year olds have lofty car dreams, but few have accomplished what young 18 year old Bulgarian BMW enthusiast Denislav Shishev been able to do by transforming a junked Z3 M Coupe body into a V10 442rwhp M Coupe racer, powering just 3,130 pounds. The 5.0L V10 is the high powered motor from the E60 M5 and has been tuned to 530hp / 442 lb-ft torque for this race spec Z3.

For a second consecutive year BMW Power swept the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport Manufacturer, Driver and Team championships.

Competing in the uber-competitive Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype class the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates BMW Powered Riley clinched a second Engine Manufacturer’s title for BMW with a second place finish in the September 17 Emco Gears Classis. Winning five races, including the 2011 Rolex 24 at Daytona, during the season it was in fact the runner-up finish at Mid-Ohio that clinched the title as the points tie with Chevrolet (also with five wins) was decided by second place finishes.
