KKS has released its performance exhaust system for the 2012 BMW M5 (F10). The 3″ axle-back system raises the open valve sound of the M5 exhaust from 93db to 108db.

The US press drives for the 2012 BMW 3 series sedan (F30) has kicked off in beautiful Monterey, California and we had the pleasure of taking a 335i Sport Line with 6-speed manual transmission out for a spin today. This is the first time that the F30 335i and F30 manual transmission has been made available for testing by BMW.

Munich, 30th January 2012. BMW Motorsport returns with six BMW M3 DTM cars in 2012 as it makes its comeback in the DTM. One of the cars, the Castrol EDGE BMW M3 DTM, will bear the design of Castrol EDGE and Aral Ultimate. This marks an extension of the existing, long-term partnership between Castrol and BMW Motorsport, and sees Aral Ultimate presented as partner of BMW Motorsport in the DTM.

What we know about BMW’s aggressive push into the electric car market (via their dedicated BMW i brand) is that it is essentially a two pronged approach. Cover the exotic sports car market with the BMW i8, to effectively show that an electric car can be a desirable super-car and at the same time produce a compact and efficient city car with the BMW i3.
While both of these cars will do alot to put electric cars into the mindset of car buyers and enthusiasts, the real car market is the mainstream people mover: the family sedan. A new automotive interest web series called DRIVE has been launched and the first episode features a track and race very familiar to BMW enthusiasts - the fabled Nurburgring and its 24 Hour race. Plenty of BMW and other racing eye candy inside.
BMW took second place at the most recent 24 Hour Nurburgring race back in June 2011 and BMW uses the track extensively to develop and test its new models, the prototype versions of which are often spotted by our spy photographers.
The Rolex 24 Hour Race at Daytona kicks off beginning tomorrow afternoon and Turner Motorsports will be competing with its Prep 2 GT class E92 M3 coupes.
Piloting the two M3s is an all star cast of professional motorsport drivers Dirk Mueller, Joerg Mueller, Dirk Werner, Bill Auberlen, Billy Johnson, Paul Dalla Lana, Michael Marsal and Boris Said.
This will be the Turner team’s third run for a Rolex watch in the twice-around-the-clock endurance classic.
