We previously reported that the 2013 M5 (F10) US pricing will be announced upon the 2012 NYIAS which takes place the first week of April. We’ve now learned that the 2013 M6 Coupe and 2012 Convertible [official info] US pricing will also be released at the same time.

The 2012 M5 was recently announced for the Canadian market at a starting price of $101,500 CAD. Expect the US pricing for the 2013 M5 to be somewhere in the high-$80k to mid-$90k range. And if the previous generation M5 and M6 pricing provides any guidance, the 2013 M6 coupe and 2012 cabrio may be at least 18-20% and 25-27% higher than the 2013 M5 price.

The 2013 M5 and M6 coupe will launch to the US market on roughly … CONTINUED

Motortrend gets its hand on the F10 M5 for an in depth evaluation and performance testing. They achieved an impressive 3.7sec 0-60mph and 11.9sec quarter mile (@ 120.3mph).

Along the way they call the F10 M5 probably the best M5 ever, from driver feedback to all-out performance. We see their complaint about the large gap between comfort and sport mode as a positive as it means that the new M5’s range and effectiveness while wearing its many hats is better than ever.

Check out the full review and performance figures inside.

Site member and renowned driver Advevo shows how much driving skill equalizes the power and performance difference between cars. The 1M is no slouch but on paper it gives up much to the lightweight M3 GTS, but Advevo manages to keep it a very close race on this Nurbrugring lap.

This lap by Advevo in his 1M was completed in just 7.45, an impressive task in and of itself.

The EPA has revised the 2012 328i (F30) MPG figures down by 3MPG to 33MPG. According to BMW:

All manufacturers are responsible for testing and submitting fuel economy figures each year to the EPA (based on physical tests following the EPA test cycle on a dynamometer). Occasionally, the EPA will validate the figures that we provide. When this happens, there are sometimes small changes in the published EPA fuel economy figures (usually 1 mpg up or down).

The EPA recently tested the 2012 328i Automatic and obtained a highway mileage result that was 3m pg lower (33mpg versus 36mpg) than the BMW test result. We are very surprised by this result and are currently working to determine how this is possible. The new rating seems abnormally low … CONTINUED

Development continues on the upcoming F34 3 Series GT (Gran Turismo) model, which BMW is testing concurrently with the other future F3x variants - the F32 coupe, F31 touring.

We’ve now spied the GT model with its trunk/tailgate open, revealing its exact trunk line. These photos also confirm what we’ve said earlier - that the 3 series GT will feature a simple hatch function rather than the twin trunk arrangement on the 5er GT.

We also get some more looks at the F34’s retractable spoiler, the first on a production BMW. As seen in the older photos we’ve reposted below, when the spoiler is deployed, we can see the trunk cutout for it to slot into when retracted, for a flat subtle look. Expect this spoiler spoiler to … CONTINUED
