BMW Team RLL was victorious at this weekend’s exciting 12 Hours of Sebring race in Florida, at which BMW hosted a BMW Corral for local enthusiasts. Many of our site members were in attendance for the race and parked in the corral. On hand was the F10 M5 for everyone to ogle and check out.

BMW Team RLL had an excellent start to the 2012 American Le Mans Series season. At the 60th running of the 12 Hours of Sebring (US) the no. 56 BMW M3 GT claimed overall victory in the GT class after 307 laps of the “Sebring International Raceway” and a dramatic final stage of the race. Over the course of the thrilling marathon, Dirk Müller (DE), Joey Hand (US) and Jonathan Summerton (US) shared the driving duties. Last year, Müller and Hand (along with Andy Priaulx) crossed the line as winners in the BMW M3 GT at the season opener.

At the Geneva Motorshow we learned that the X1 (in LCI facelift form) for the US market will be debuted at next month’s NY International Auto Show. It should be on sale in the US in early Fall as a xDrive28i model (with 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder N20 engine).
The X1’s introduction to the US market may be laying the path for a rumored X1 M35i, which would be the first M Performance Automobile for the North American market.
