In this video, the Product Managers of BMW’s new M Performance Parts retrofit accessories explain and show us the philosophies, process, and techniques behind the development of the BMW M Performance Parts. As one can see, the M Performance Parts are developed in collaboration with BMW M designers and engineers for both visual and performance enhancements.

As soon as the production vehicle process is completed, the technical sketch and design phase for M Performance Parts begins. Only real carbon fiber is used in the production of M Performance Parts components.

The US BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe online builder is now online for you to spec and price your own 2013 640i Gran Coupe. The 640i Gran Coupe hits the US market in early Summer and the 650i Gran Coupe and 650i xDrive Gran Coupe (which is the model being displayed at Geneva) follows later in the Summer.

Chris Harris drives the BMW M550d xDrive, the first in the line of new BMW M Performance vehicles.

It has more torque than the space shuttle and BMW claims it will do over 40mpg. BMW also says it won’t be selling the car in the UK or the US, the places that DRIVE is most commonly viewed. But when something has 3 turbos, you’ve got to go drive it at 155mph: no? … asks Chris Harris.

The BMW Group achieved sales volume, revenues and earnings records in 2011. Compared to the previous year, Group revenues increased by 13.8% to € 68,821 million (2010: € 60,477 million). In earnings terms, profit before tax (EBT) rose by 52.1% to € 7,383 million (2010: € 4,853 million), profit before financial result (EBIT) by 56.9% to € 8,018 million (2010: € 5,111 million) and Group net profit by 51.3% to € 4,907 million (2010: € 3,243 million). The total number of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand cars delivered to customers increased by 14.2% to a new record figure of 1,668,982 units (2010: 1,461,166 units).

With 127,634 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand automobiles delivered worldwide (+14.2% / prev. yr. 111,724), the BMW Group achieved its best-ever February sales result. A total of 239,800 (prev. yr. 216,917) vehicles have been delivered to customers since the start of the year – an increase of +10.5% compared with the same period last year.
