Powerbeast’s 1M coupe is no stranger to attention, having been featured as one of our BMWs of the month recently. But, it’s about to get as much attention as an 1M coupe can, having donned a Dakar Yellow coat as its newest wardrobe choice.

Dakar Yellow was last offered by BMW as a standard color for the Z3 M roadster/coupe but we still see it from time to time on late model BMWs from enthusiasts looking to give their cars a unique color, either by ordering it via BMW Individual or painting/wrapping in the aftermarket. HERE are some examples - mostly M3s.

Now for the details. Here’s the official specs/modifications list for Powerbeast’s 1M:

The BMW M3 DTM cars are set to take on their Audi and Mercedes Benz rivals for real and for the first time in just over two weeks at Hockenheim (on April 29), but the race cars first face off in this photo session from Media Day, where for the first time the final DTM cars were revealed together. This will be BMW’s first DTM race since October 11, 1992.

Subject to the same regulations, the three German marquees’ cars share similar general aero bits and styling, but each also maintains the essence of the respective models’ styling cues - grilles, lights, and the like.

And you haven’t heard or seen the M3 DTM cars in action, be sure to check out the videos we’ve reposted below. Photos … CONTINUED

We’ve seen all variety of frozen (matte) colors on BMWs since the trend started a couple of years ago, but this is the first time we’ve seen it in one of our favorite BMW blues of all time - Estoril Blue.

What makes this color on the car even more unique is that it wasn’t achieved with a vinyl wrap, which has been the preferred method for applying a matte color to a car, but was actually a full respray of the car.

Other modifications on this M3 include:

Modifications
- VF Engineering VF620 Supercharger System
- Custom Matte Estoril Blue Paint by C&C Collision
- RPI X-Pipe/Exhaust System
- Vorsteiner Carbon Fiber GTS3 Front Bumper
- Vorsteiner Carbon Fiber Aero Boot Lid
- Vorsteiner Aero Rear … CONTINUED

Sure we all love our BMWs and we know why we love them so, but it’s always nice to hear some affirmation from someone who know a thing or two about cars and has had a chance to experience the best the world has to offer, from econoboxes to exotics.

In this interview with Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond, the Hamster is asked whether BMWs are the best cars made, to which he responds: “To a degree you really could make a case for them being exactly that,” Hammond says in the attached video, pointing to BMW’s engineering pedigree and a reputation for quality that assures you their cars will “be here in ten years.”

Hammond’s revelation first came to light in a column he wrote … CONTINUED

Congratulations to M5POST member and happy new M5 owner, HHSAM, on the delivery of his F10 M5 in Moonstone Individual, the first such color M5 on the site.

The exterior color is Moonstone Metallic (one of BMW’s recommended Individual colors for the new M5). The interior is Platinum Merino full extended leather and the trim is Auburn Sycamore. The Moonstone Metallic color with its depth and ever changing look in different lights is stunning and even more impressive in person.

This is a Gulf spec M5, so it came standard with all options included.

We’ve updated our Owner Registry to include this Moonstone M5 and HHSAM will surely chime in with his own words.
