Resident digital artist Jerry Alvarez has put together this speculative side render of the F82 M4 coupe.
Although not visible in these renders, you can expect the F82 M4 coupe to receive the same (or very similar) hood lip/bulge that we recently spotted for the first time on the F80 M3 sedan.
Also not reflected in the renders is an expected sleeker front fascia and headlights (compared to the F30 3 series). The F82 M4 coupe is also expected to feature a carbon fiber roof.
The F80 M3 / F82 M4 will not be constructed extensively from carbon fiber (CFRP) as some earlier reports had speculated. Because this next generation M3/M4 began development two years ago, it’s said to have been too early to take advantage of BMW’s CFRP … CONTINUED
BMW’s second victory of its comeback season: Bruno Spengler (CA) won the sixth DTM race of the year at the Nürburgring (DE). The 28-year-old, at the wheel of the BMW Bank M3 DTM, crossed the line 6.703 seconds clear of runner-up Edoardo Mortara (IT, Audi). Martin Tomczyk (DE) came home in third in his BMW M Performance Parts M3 DTM.
After the triumph at the Lausitzring (DE) in just the second race back after a 20-year absence from the DTM, Spengler, who started from pole, once again led from start to finish in the Eifel Mountains. Thanks to two immaculate pit stops by BMW Team Schnitzer and a flawless 49-lap drive, the Canadian presented BMW with its 51st victory in the DTM – and the perfect close … CONTINUED

For the third time in four seasons of American Le Mans Series competition, BMW Team RLL saw one if its BMW M3 GTs cross the Road America (US) finish line first to win the four-hour Road America Road Race Showcase. While the DTM event at the Nürburgring (DE) provides the back drop for the “40 Years of BMW M” celebrations this weekend, BMW Team RLL made the perfect birthday present by claiming GT victory in the sixth round of the ALMS.
On Saturday it was Bill Auberlen (US) and Jörg Müller (DE) who took the GT class victory in the no. 55 BMW M3 GT, racing past the chequered flag 2.63 seconds ahead of the no. 45 Porsche in second. The duo completed 97 laps of the … CONTINUED

Pebble Beach. Barely three months after the sensational premiere of the BMW Zagato Coupé, BMW and Zagato are turning heads again at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with the fruits of their latest collaboration. Created in just six weeks’ worth of lavish handcraftsmanship, the BMW Zagato Roadster represents another masterful example of the traditional coachbuilder’s art and an elegant take on the sporty, masculine marker laid down by the BMW Zagato Coupé.
At the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, this one-of-a-kind automobile finds itself in the best possible company. Every year connoisseurs and exponents of coachbuilt classics come together on California’s Pacific coastline to gorge on, mull over and be amazed by an array of automotive exotica. Indeed, you’d be hard pressed to find a more appropriate … CONTINUED
Rosenthal comes in with another great review, this time on the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe! Steve takes us on a tour of BMW’s new 640i gran coupe. He explores the interior and exterior of the Gran Coupe and reviews how well the car feels to drive in person.
A month ago, a new BMW prototype was spied for the first time. At the time, given its fastback shape and substantial similarities to the 3 Series GT (3GT) prototypes we’ve been spying for months, we deemed it to be a 3GT with some camouflage removed or altered. But, the prototype has been spotted again and the additional looks at the prototype have us convinced that it is indeed the F36 4 Series Gran Coupe (4GC) being tested.
Here’s a brief analysis of the clear differences between the two prototype models. The comparison photos below should also be helpful.
The hood and cowl height and hood slope of the 4GC prototype is different than the 3GT.
The shorter front bumper … CONTINUED
BIMMERPOST shares with you our short term road test review of the 2012 BMW F10 M5, taken place over two weeks of daily driving with the M5.
Some people don’t like change. But BMW isn’t some people (or even a person), so it’s no surprise that they don’t mind change. Take the new BMW F10 M5 for instance: The mighty yet rushed 1 Series M Coupe and some M trucks aside, the new M5 is the first true M car to get a turbocharged engine. So, is it still a true M? After 14 days and roughly 2,000km in a 2012 Frozen Grey M5, I think I can give my subjective answer.
Size Matters
The F10 5 series is neither small nor light, and the same holds true … CONTINUED
