BMW has released the latest M Performance stripes catalog for the 1M coupe, M3, M5, M6, F30 and E92/E93.
Did you know that the BMW 3 Series Touring had its origins in a wrecked E30 3 Series sedan? BMW engineer Max Reisböck created what became the prototype for the first 3 Series Touring based off his desire for a larger and roomier car, by way of a $14,000 budget, a friend’s garage, and a wrecked E30 sedan.
The story about the invention of the BMW 3 Series Touring and the beginning of the lifestyle touring. Engineer Max Reisböck wanted to go on vacation with his family, but in the mid 80’s regular BMW’s were too small for his luggage. That’s why he invented the BMW Touring out of a wrecked 3 Series Sedan. Finally, the board of BMW took over his idea.
And now the 700 WHP barrier has (amazingly) been cracked on the N54 engine!
A Vishnu with FFTEC 6466 single turbo 335i has hit 708 WHP.

The BMW N54 engine is turning out to be the 2jz engine (Toyota Supra) of this decade. It’s the darling of the BMW aftermarket tuning world and it’s now hit new horsepower heights.
Vargas Turbocharger Technologies has now hit 693 WHP on the N54 platform with its VTT-R63 Stage 3 upgraded turbo package (featuring Garrett turbos) for the E90/E92 3 Series. This was with a PTF Pro-Tuned COBB Flash on 98 Octane and NO Methanol.

Yesterday, we brought you news of the availability of the F30 335i M Performance Power Kit (PPK) [full details].
The PPK increases the 335i’s horsepower from 300 to 320hp (official factory quoted figures) on all models. Automatic transmission models will experience a +32 lb-ft peak torque increase (to 332 lb-ft), while manual transmission-equipped models benefit from a +17 lb-ft peak torque increase (to 317 lb-ft). 0-60mph acceleration is improved 0.2 seconds compared to standard 335i models, while 50-75mph times drop by a full half-second.
