The next generation BMW 3-Series sedan is only months away from full reveal, and in typical BMW fashion the camo striptease continues during vehicle testing.
The overall level of camo on the cars appears to remain the same as previous photos demonstrated, however with better lighting and angles, a more realistic picure of the F30 appears before our eyes. The true “mini F10″ look of the car is much more obvious, especially when looking at the headline photo. That is to say a mini F10 5-Series with … CONTINUED
You typically don’t see manufacturers testing vehicles in Manhattan, but a BIMMERPOST member spotted the new F30 testing in the big apple. The vehicle does seem to be wearing California license plates, suggesting a long road trip as part of the evaluation phase.
We bring you a realistic look at the upcoming 2012 3-series F30 sedan’s rear view, revealed by reference to real life spy photos and using our talented artists’ skills. What’s revealed is a not-revolutionary, yet stately and handsome rear.
The F30 3 series will feature rear tail lights in the classic L-shape, lit by LED light bars. The trunk will feature a very slight integrated bill, toned down from the E90 3-series’ more aggressive trunk bill. All F30 3-series have been spotted with the same rear lower … CONTINUED
The BMW 335is has been available for a while now, but it’s never too late (and always fun) to see another review. Motorweek reviews the 335is. Video inside.
BMW F30 3-series continues testing and a black test mule was recently photographed. This prototype wears the same camouflage level as the recently spotted F30 sedans, but its black paint set against the camouflage tape shows off the car’s lines better than a lighter color.
Squared off LED halos adorn the front headlights on this particular model, and overall the front headlights look to have a stylish and aggressive shape, as on the F10 5-series. Low and wide kidney grilles sit at the front at a sleek … CONTINUED
Following our earlier coverage, we share with you photos of even more beautiful Individual BMW 3-series models. As usual, we’ve included the spec sheets to give you an idea of options and costs (in Germany). Stay … CONTINUED
We’re able to share that the F30 3-series sedan will begin production in November 2011, shortly after the E90 3-series stops production. The F30 2012 Model Year will run until June 2012, upon which point it will switch to the 2013 Model Year.
As the schedule shows, the F30 3-series will come as 328i and 335i models. The 328i will most certainly be powered by the ‘N20′ turbo 4-cylinder inline engine (as found in the Z4 28i, details) and the 335i by a turbo 6-cylinder inline motor. … CONTINUED
The Houston ///M Club and other BMW owners in the Houston area organized and participated in a meet this past Saturday in the Uptown district of downtown Houston. Check out their photos inside.
Check out this potent custom built widebody E30, making over 800 RWHP with its built S52 motor and 800mm Bullseye topmount turbo. That kind of power rockets it down the quarter mile in 9.53 @ 154.7mph. And yes, that is a parachute attached!
Here is our latest sighting of a F30 335i sedan in alpine white, including some new interior looks. We analyze the interior and exterior. See inside for analysis.
The current BMW E90 generation is soon coming to an end, including the E90 M3 sedan. Based on the official BMW production schedule (see below), all E90 3-series and E90 M3 sedan production will cease in October 2011. M3 coupe and convertible fans have some more time, however. The E92 M3 and E93 M3 will continue to be produced until at least June 2012 (along with the 3-series coupe and convertible). Whether they will be produced beyond June 2012 as 2013 model years is not … CONTINUED
For 36 years now, the BMW 3 Series has profited more than almost any other model series from its fascinating drive technology. During a period spanning five generations, BMW 3 Series engines have time and time again been pioneers of innovative technology and milestones in engine construction. As a result, the four and six-cylinder power units, each of them having been the most modern of their time, have created the basis for the success of the internationally coveted, sporty midrange series. And what’s more: with its … CONTINUED
We bring you what we believe are the most realistic F30 3-series sedan renders yet, based directly off the latest and most revealing F30 spy photos. The F30 sedan adopts BMW’s current design language, with a sleeker sloping hood with more upright and widened kidney grilles placed below the hood line. The entire front fascia is more front leaning and shark-like. The F30 features double side character lines, as seen in the render. The side view mirrors will feature turn signals, like the just revealed … CONTINUED
It’s usually the strange looking camouflaged prototype cars which get the attention in public, but that may not be the case here where one of our members in a Ferrari 458 caught an F30 3-series sedan prototype out testing in the canyons of Malibu, California.
What’s better than spotting a Individual BMW? Seeing many Individual BMWs, and all at the same location. Our invaluable member Dackelone provides another amazing set of photos, this time from BMW’s factory-owned Munich dealerships and their already famous display of Individual colors and options.
Starring below are some known colors we never tire of seeing, but also some completely new options like a beautiful E90 3-series in Bianco Fuji Metallic. We’ve included the spec sheets of all cars for you, but don’t be surprised about the prices. … CONTINUED
The next generation 3-series coupe and cabrio are said to possibly be receiving 4-series badges, splitting up for the first time the 4-door and 2-door versions of what has always been called together, the “3-series.” These are some new speculative renders courtesy of Autobild.
Here are some videos featuring the autonomous driving BMW 3-series cars, which can drive themselves (and demonstrate proper driving lines, braking, and accelerating) around tracks for which they’ve been programmed for, including the Nurburgring, Hockenheim, and now Laguna Seca.
The robotic 3-series also feature LED indicator lights which help drivers who takes control manually recognize how close or off of ideal driving lines they are at any given moment on the track. All this info can then be exported to the computer following the laps for immediate … CONTINUED
BMW has built a self-driving 330i that can take itself around Laguna Seca, and not at your granny’s driving speed, but at high speed track speeds. It turned in laps of just more than 2 minutes at Laguna Seca. The car uses GPS, on board cameras, dead reckoning, ECU data and navigation routes of the track.
What’s more, since it’s fully computerized, it always takes the correct lines, accelerates and brakes at optimal locations, and hits apex perfectly. It has also been programmed and … CONTINUED
