Studie AG has a history of producing custom BMWs mimicking genuine BMW Motorsport race cars. Their latest project is converting the 2009 335i sedan to an endurance race car look, complete with Schubert carbon fiber widebody parts, BMW Motorsports sideskirts, Active Autowerke ECU, Arqray exhaust, and aFe’s intakes. The cover of the latest auto moto, a french auto magazine, features their prediction of what the 2012 F30 3-series sedan may look like. This render seems to draw heavily on cues from the newest BMWs such as the F10 5-series, F07 5-series GT, F01 7-series, and even E89 Z4. Opinions?
Here are the first clips we’ve seen of the BMW Performance Exhaust matched to a N55 motor and it sounds terrific! N55 BMWs come from the factory with a throatier exhaust than the N54 due to the absence of two mid cats. Paired with a Performance Exhaust, the N55′s growl is amplified beautifully.
BMW’s color offerings are fairly standard throughout its cars. But owners do have the option of choosing a BMW Individual color, which are always a joy to see. E90POST member tbensous has taken delivery of a Diopside Black Individual E90, the first we’ve seen of this color and we’re in love.
Another N54 turbo upgrade is underway. The specific upgrade plan has not yet been determined, but upgraded turbine and compressor wheel, bearing and waste gate are being considered. We hope this project will be an exception and see a successful ending. Be sure to subscribe and follow the project.
The E90 sedan has turned 5 yrs old and members have already reported hitting 100,000 miles (some as early as last year). Impressively, these original owners have mostly reported no unexpected major issues and have indefinite ownership plans. Have you turned 100k miles on your E90 or E92? Chime in.
BMW has released an updated BMW Performance promo video, now also featuring the X6 and X5. The original clip featuring just the E90 3-series and E82 1-series portion of this video was released back in November 2008.

We bring you the first video of the F30 / F31 3-series Touring prototype on the streets of Germany. Most of the car is still clad in heavy camouflage, but as with the F30 sedan spy photos so far, shape, size, and proportions can be gleamed from these early spy photos/videos.
According to our BMW Roadmap, the next generation 3-series sedan and touring are expected sometime in 2012. Several variants are expected of the next gen 3-series, including sedan, coupe, touring, GT version, and of course the M3.
