The finalist group was just announced at the Geneva autoshow and the winner will be picked at this year’s New York International Auto Show on Thursday, April 21, 2011.
Well folks, we’re all done here at the 2011 Geneva auto show and hope you enjoyed the coverage as much as we enjoyed sharing it with our community. Geneva is always an exciting show because of all shows, it’s arguably the largest in the world and always features an unrivaled number of exotics and tuning companies on display. Geneva is also traditionally one of the most important shows for BMW due to its proximity to BMW’s home market and prominence among the auto show circuit events.
This year again featured several debuts of BMW models, packages, and technologies, as well as plenty of aftermarket tuner models. As a show wrap-up, we’ve summarized our coverage below, enjoy!
Making its first official public appearance is the full Hamann F10 5-series. The Hamann F10 aero kit seen on this model includes:

The F10 5-series appears to be the darling of the BMW tuners this year at Geneva. Kelleners Sport brought only one car to the show – their Kelleners 520d M-sport. At a glance, Kellener’s F10 program features:
· Enhanced performance for petrol and diesel engines
· Comprehensive aerodynamics package creates a sporty appearance
· 20-inch alloy wheels in “Hamburg” and “Berlin” designs
· Interior enhanced with added accessories
Kelleners Sport engineers have unleashed around 20 per cent more engine power for petrol and diesel models. The 520d (the car on display at Geneva) now reaches 218 hp (160 kW), instead of the standard 184 hp (135kW), and maximum torque reaches 450 instead of 380 Newton metres. Renowned BMW tuning house Alpina has brought its latest F10/F11 creations to the Geneva auto show. Both the Alpina F10 sedan and F11 touring boast 507hp / 700Nm torque from the 4.4L V8 twin-turbo motor, mated to a ZF 8 peed sport automatic transmission (“Switch-tronic”). 0-100kmh (62 mph) is accomplished in 4.7 seconds for the F10 B5 and 4.8 seconds for the F11 B5.
Munich. Harmonious proportions, individual surface design and a powerfully dynamic appeal – with these attributes the BMW 5 Series Touring managed to win over the panel of judges for the world-renowned iF Product Design Awards. On 1 March 2011, the opening day of the CeBIT technology fair, the BMW 5 Series Touring received its iF Gold Award. This special accolade is the highest distinction conferred by the Hanover-based International Forum Design. The BMW 5 Series Touring is among the 50 recipients of the Gold Award selected from a total of 993 winners of the 2011 iF label.

With the new BMW 5-series saloon and the new BMW 5-series Touring, in 2011 two new 5-series models have been awarded the prestigious iF Award for outstanding product design. Equally prizeworthy is the AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport S Saloon based on the BMW 5-series saloon, which celebrates its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show from 3rd to 13th March.
With this concept vehicle, the Aachen-based tuning specialist AC Schnitzer is demonstrating new and unusual aspects of driving pleasure. With a performance upgrade from 407 to 540 HP, the AC Schnitzer engineers are pushing the boundaries of the possible – for greater dynamics and efficiency.
