5POST member phrasing shares with us some great insight into the F10 535i driving experience. With the perspective of a current E60 5-series owner, the verdict was that the F10 535i exceeded his already high expectations and was incredibly impressive in person. He also shares some comparison photos next to the E60.
Jeremy Clarkson has developed (rightfully so) a reputation as a bit of a sourpuss when it comes to BMWs. Thats why BMW owners take notice when he reviews a BMW favorably. And he does so very favorably in his review of the F10 BMW 535i, which he calls the "absolute best of absolutely everything we know." Pretty darn good endorsement if you ask us.
Reviews of the 2011 550i (F10) are now rolling in. Motortrend is one of the first to get some review time in a 550i and they are impressed with the 550i, calling it “better in every way” than previous generation 5-series.
Here are a few excerpts from the article
We suppose its downright impossible to discuss the 550i GT without first mentioning its shape. In a word, awkward. To add one more word, really awkward. The front end happily employs BMWs latest design direction, with mega-nostrils dwarfing the Roundel and the newest version of their patented angel eyes.
Fifth Gear online has reviewed the F10 5-series and HIGHLY RECOMMENDS the newest 5-series. The folks at Fifth Gear say that the car is brilliant in many ways. It’s a joy to drive with fantastic handling and a much improved ride, and an improved elegant interior.
Which? consumer test magazine had a chance to test both the F10 535i and 530d. While calling the 530d massively competent and refined, the testers still preferred the 535i, which encouraged a more enthusiastic driving experience. Either way, they felt the F10 stacks up impressively well on performance and refinement against current rivals, including the Mercedes E- class and aging Audi A6.
I enclose report in pdf,
Top Gear online has great things to say about the F10 535i after their test drive. Calling it a “serious return to form”, with an excellent ride, smart details and lovely quality throughout. Check out their review.
Here is yet another review of the 5-series to add to our growing list. This video is in dutch but they have been thoughtful enough to subtitle it in English for the rest of us. Take a look below and enjoy..
The folks over at BimmerFile got time to sit down with a beautiful example of the new 2011 BMW 5-series and wrote up a nice post sharing their thoughts. Here are some select quotes, but follow the jump for the full blog post
Most photos do not do these undulations justice, as the peaks and valleys on the hood are very impressive and give … CONTINUED
I previewed a Space Gray Metallic 535i F10 in SE trim on 16-Feb at Rybrook Warwick, in Warwickshire, England. No pictures were allowed so apologies in advanced – the car was even hidden behind screens to protect it from general view within the dealership.
My first observations were:
1. Well-proportioned if somewhat conservative exterior. The kidney grill looks great but the Volvo S80 type hood is a bit old-fashioned at a time when Jaguar, Mercedes, even Vauxhall and Honda are going the … CONTINUED
Here’s the comparison everyone wants to see. Motortrend has undertaken the battle of the titans of the mid-sized german sedan market by pitting the 2011 535i against the 2010 Mercedes E350. Was there a clear winner? Check out the review to find out.
