This test mule still wears heavy camouflage panels and paint, but its overall proportions and shape can still be appreciated. The new 6-series coupe is due to launch in 2011.

BMWs next-generation 6-series has begun testing, as evidenced by
these shots of a prototype caught on German Roads. Somewhat
surprisingly, our first look at the 6-series follow-up is of the drop-
top variant. The prototype appears to wear a combination of
camouflage panels covered in BMWs trademark psychedelic swirl
veneer. Design details are tough to make out through all of the
visual clutter, but it appears that the new 6-er will follow the route
of the second-generation BMW Z4–ditching some of its more
controversial styling elements in favor of a new-found elegance and
