We’ve spied the next gen G11/G12 7 Series’ display gauges before, but here’s the closest look yet and it once again confirms a hybrid physical/digital multifunction display.
Physical semi-circles frame the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and temperature gauge, while all other elements appear to be digital, including needles and numbers.
The gauges are colored red as the car is in Sport mode, so we expect that the display gauges overall look will change with the car’s current mode (Sport, Comfort, Eco Pro), much like that seen … CONTINUED
Unfortunate serious accident between a 7 Series G11/G12 prototype and a police van. A BMW factory test driver, driving a new 7er G1x prototype was involved in a crash Saturday morning. The 7er driver (42-year-old) hit a Polizei van (30-year-old) t-boned it and the Polizei van flipped over. Inside the Polizei van were three policeman. All parties involved escaped with only minor injuries.
The accident occurred on the B27a (Theodor-Heuss-Straße) in downtown Stuttgart – as several Polizei cars (&vans) were responding to robbery call … CONTINUED
Although the next generation G11/G12 7 Series (G11 = short wheelbase / G12 = long wheelbase) has already been seen in its entirety (photos below), we’ve yet to see a model wearing the M Sport package. Seen here is the 7 Series M Sport, or perhaps even the rumored M770i. BMW has previously shot down rumors of a M7 model.

Rumored engine lineup for the 2016 7 Series (G11), ranging from a 4 cylinder 730i to a 12 cylinder 760i.
The next generation 2016 7 Series (G11) has dropped some major camouflage, revealing its overall body styling.
The major styling components are now revealed – body lines, kidney grille shape and size, headlight and tail light shapes and yes, the hood cutline has indeed been moved back down to meet with the kidney grilles!
As usual, the next 7 Series will be a showcase for future BMW technologies, both in physical construction and its technology.

Some more insight from Scott26 on the possible new iDrive technology we may see introduced on the G11 7 Series, including possibly Augmented Reality.
The G11 7 Series has now been spied out and about with a production-level interior. The biggest change that we can now see compared to the previous sighting is new iDrive software. The screen shows a never before seen iDrive menu and we now also see the climate control display and controller layout.
The next generation G11 7 Series shows off more of its lighting – laser headlights, LED headlights and some of its tail lights.
