BMW has been busy trademarking. Below is a list of some recent BMW trademark filings for future potential models. Remember, just because a manufacturer registers a trademark does not mean that the model will necessarily come to fruition. But, it makes for some fun speculation and certainly paints a rough map of what potential future models we may see out of Munich.

We have just posted the official release information for the 2013 7 Series LCI (facelift). And to give you an idea of what the facelift changes on the 7 Series, we’ve compiled a set of comparison photos between the LCI 7 series and pre-LCI 7 series. The list of cosmetic changes as follows:

Starting as of July 2012 production, the next generation Navigation Professional system (609) will be available on the 5 Series Sedan, 5 Series Gran Turismo, 7 Series Sedan and ActiveHybrid 3. Although the link above doesn’t mention the F30, it will also be available on the F31 touring and should be available on the F30 3 series as of July.

After many months of testing and multiple prototype sightings, the debut of the 7 Series LCI facelift refresh is imminent. The reveal should come by the end of this month.

Some interesting info comes out of a recent interview by Jens Meiners of Car and Driver with the BMW M President, Dr. Friedrich Nitschke.
In the interview, when asked about the M135i concept, Dr. Nitschke confirms that the production version will be virtually identical to the concept and powered by the N55 engine. It will also come with both manual and automatic transmission options, as well as an optional xDrive AWD. We’ve spied an advanced 7 Series LCI facelift prototype and it’s looking like the reveal is coming in the very near future.
The refreshed 7 Series’ biggest change will be to the front fascia. Full LED headlights will come to the 7 series for the first time, with the turn signal lights now integrated into the eyebrow. BMW announced that the My BMW Remote app is available for Apple iOS devices beginning today. This app allows many BMW customers to access remote features for their vehicle by using their mobile device and the power of BMW Assist. These features include remotely locking and unlocking of doors, getting the location of their parked vehicle, and sending Google Local Search results to their vehicle. BMW of North America has announced a modest inflationary price increase effective January 1, 2012. The Destination and Handling fee for all models will be increased to $895 on that date as well. This increase is less than one percent and applies to the models listed in the table below. In these tough economic times a careful balance was attained between the competitive situation, inflationary conditions, and market realities.
The F01 7-series is due for a facelift and the prototypes continue to undergo public testing.
Expect the F01 7-series LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) to be unveiled next Spring. The biggest changes to be seen will be to the front fascia. The F01 7-Series has been a real hit for BMW, but the company is not resting on its laurels. An LCI 7-Series has been planned for some time, and should be arriving to market in the near future. The overarching theme of this LCI (stands for Life Cycle Impulse — A facelift), is to ‘not fix it if it ain’t broke’.
