We had the opportunity to sit down with the gracious Dr. Friedrich Nitschke, current BMW M GmbH President, at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow last week. We were primarily interested in discussing future M models and developments and here’s what we are able to report.
Is it safe to assume that will there will be a successor to the popular 1M coupe?
We sold more than 5000 units worldwide and we are thinking for a successor, but we haven’t made a decision yet.
We’ve seen next generation M3 … CONTINUED

THE BMW ALPINA B6 BITURBO – CABRIO INDULGENCE AND COUPE CULTURE
DRIVE – FIRST CLASS PERFORMANCE AND ECONOMY
For ALPINA, a technology driven company, standstill is a foreign word. Since the introduction of the B7 Bi-Turbo, the engineers from Buchloe, Germany, have been continuously working on the details of the turbo charging and intercooler system.
Consequently, the all-aluminium V8 power plant now produces 540hp (397kW) at a moderate 5200 to 6250rpm, with a maximum torque of 730Nm from 2800 to 5000rpm. Two turbo-chargers configured in parallel, each feeding one … CONTINUED

It previews the upcoming M135i, the next vehicle which will join the ranks of BMW’s new M Performance vehicle lineup (in addition to the already revealed M550d and X5/X6 M50d). It also represents the first petrol/gasoline M Performance model. If that’s not enough firsts, this concept is also the first official look at the F21 3-door hatchback.
No specs have been released on the M135i yet, but BMW has printed that it employs a straight six-cylinder petrol … CONTINUED

We bring some news directly from the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. We had an opportunity to chat with BMW M President Dr. Friedrich Nitschke earlier today at the show and contrary to earlier reports from BMW insider SCOTT26, Dr. Nitschke ruled out M versions of the current X3 or Z4 for the current generation.
When asked about a possible Z4M, Dr. Nitschke said: “In the current generation we won’t bring a Z4M, but for the successor we’re thinking about it.” Dr. Nitschke went on to say in … CONTINUED
The all new 2012 BMW M6 coupe (official info thread) is the star of the BMW display at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow, based on our affinity for the car and how swarmed the car was. It’s no wonder given the M6′s hard-to-miss Sakhir Orange color, sculpted carbon fiber roof, and very aggressive bodywork.
And the F13 M6 coupe has got the performance to match its looks. Its 560hp/502 lb-ft torque propels it from 0-62mph in only 4.2 seconds (compared to M6 convertible’s 4.3 sec and M5′s 4.4 … CONTINUED

One of the BMWs Hamann has trotted out to showcase at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show is their new M5 F10.
While we can’t say that it’s an improvement exterior-wise, there’s certainly no lack add of aero parts for the Hamman F10 M5 cosmetic program as one can see from the photos below. The suspension is lowered by 30mm on Hamann springs and this M5 sits on Unique Forged II wheels (21×9.5F 21x12R + 265/30 ZR and 325/25 ZR tires).
As for power upgrades, Hamann’s custom exhaust system … CONTINUED
