In grand style, BMW marked the official World Premiere of the BMW X3 by driving out an X3 as the first car out of the gates during the press conference. The X3 was also showcased in both diesel and gasoline versions with and without M-Sport.

We are LIVE at the 2010 Mondial de L’Automobile in Paris. The show so far has been great and we have a slew of new photos on the way! We begin with the new BMW 6-Series Concept Coupe which BMW board member Ian Robertson said in no short order would be nearly identical to the production BMW 6-Series.

Forum member Harold Wood aka Roger Lighterness brings us up to date with photos from the Goodwood Festival of Speed which he has dubbed “probably the best car show in the world”. Included are pictures of BMWs at the event, including a large ALPINA display, but his full flickr gallery actually has some extensive coverage.
The Calder car was the first BMW Art Car in a 35-year tradition of turning cars into canvases. In 1975, Hervé Poulain commissioned American artist Alexander Calder (1898-1976) to paint the BMW 3.0 CSL Poulain to drive in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. BMW continued this tradition and has sponsored 16 works from artists including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Robert Rauschenberg. The F10 5-series recently debuted in Asia at a launch event gala held in Hong Kong. This particular F10 launch event appears to be the fanciest one yet, including musical and artistic performances and celebrity appearances. Even the F10 models on hand were the most decked out, with more wheel variety and some accessory parts.

Techno Classica Essen
This past weekend I went to Essen (Germany) to go see the Techno Classica Essen. It is a very cool and eccentric classic car show. I saw some really cool cars and a ton of memorabilia and collectables. I have been wanting to go to this event ever since I heard about it way, way back when! I am glad I went!

Here is the new BMW F11 Touring as it debuted @ the AMI Leipzig. On display was the 535i in Imperial Blue, 530d in Tasman Green with optional accessories and the 520d.
Those of us who have seen (or will see) the BMWs at the New York Autoshow have apparently been viewing replacement cars and missing other cars scheduled to be shown. 6 BMWs were stolen in 3 separate heists from a NJ processing center and a private facility – a sophisto gray 550i, 535xi, 650i, 750LXI.
The 2011 F10 550i has now made its Canadian debut at the Vancouver autoshow. Shown in a space gray color, this marks the first time that the 550i has been shown in a color other than Sophisto Gray (Dark Graphite Metallic) as seen in the U.S. debut photos.
The 400+ horsepower twin-turbo V8 2011 550i (F10) (all details here) made its U.S. debut today at the 2010 NY Int’l Auto Show. It made its appearance in style by being driven into the spotlight during the press conference. Sophisto gray is a hard color to capture, but we think we’ve got some pretty good representations of it in our photos.
