GSR Autosport gives us the skinny on their Global Time Attack M4 prior to SEMA. The GSR Autosport Global Time Attack project car is being developed to run in the 2015 GTA Pro Am Series in Street Class. The overall concept is sort of a Jekyll & Hyde thing where certain parts will be able to be swapped back and forth – between track duty and street duty – parts such as the front splitter, rear decklid/wing, roll bar, seats, wheels/tires, etc.

Using MotoGP M4 Safety Cars as a basis (or as decoys), we see a large front spoiler lip and high trunk wing on the prototype. These parts are different than the M Performance front lip and trunk spoiler featured on the MotoGP M4 Safety Car and instead resemble the protuding front spoiler lip and elevated trunk wing from the E92 M3 GTS.

The upcoming X4 M40i has now been spotted without camouflage. While not a full blown M model, this X4 has been tweaked by BMW M just like the M135i, M235i, X5 M50d, and M550d “M Performance Automobiles.”
