A report from Automotive News indicates that the next BMW i model won’t be introduced until after 2020.
Exactly what model that will turn out to be is still being decided. “We are still in the strategic research phase where we brainstorm,” BMW Group R&D chief Klaus Froehlich told Automotive News. “Teams that start with a white sheet of paper. They talk with customers, hold workshops, then present their ideas and we decide.”

X4 M40i preproduction tester cars have now been spotted in Spartanburg, SC.
Like the other M Performance Automobiles, the X4 M40i will receive the full M Sport treatment (aero kit, wheels, brakes, interior) along with a sportier suspension and chassis.

The currently available Individual exterior colors are Tanzanite Blue, Pyrite Brown, Azurite Black and Moonstone Metallic.

Time flies! The next gen BMW X3 has already begun testing. The next X3 is due around 2016-2017 and here’s the first spotted prototype. It was spied testing with the current X3, and a check into German records confirmed this prototype registered as an X3.
