Formula 1 driver, 30 year old German Timo Glock, has signed on with reigning DTM champ BMW, as its eighth and final driver for the upcoming 2013 DTM season.
Glock recently left the Marussia Formula 1 team by musual consent. The team cited economic considerations as a key reason behind the split. Glock had competed in 55 Grand Prix for Marussia since the team’s debut season in 2010, with a best finish of 12th.
Six years ago, Glock served as a test driver for the BMW Sauber Formula 1 team, so he is no stranger to BMW Motorsports. BMW has not yet announced which of its four DTM teams (Schnitzer, RBM, RMG, or EMTEK) Glock will drive for in 2013.

A resourceful F30POST member went BMW VIN diving and may have uncovered many details for the upcoming BMW M3 Sedan (F80) and M4 Coupe (F82)!
While obviously no production F80 M3 or F82 M4 have rolled off the line yet, manufacturers like BMW register VINs for their pre-production test cars, so finding the details behind such VINs can reveal much about the upcoming production models (although keep in mind that everything is subject to change by the time the model hits production).
So, what does the BMW M4 coupe’s VIN reveal?
The highlight is the 310kW (415 hp) S55 3.0L inline 6 engine listed. Consistent with the information we’ve been posting, this would have the next M3 and M4 featuring similar horsepower figures to the current M3 (414 … CONTINUED

Car and Driver Contributing Editor Csaba Csere gives an in-depth review of the German-tuned 2013 BMW Alpina B7 on the latest episode of Car and Driver: Tested.
We’ve previously seen Hamann’s aero kit offerings for the 6 Series coupe M Sport and the Germany tuning company has now extended the lineup for the 6 Series Gran Coupe M Sport.
Fitting the M Sport package variant of the 6 Series Gran Coupe, the kit includes a new front spoiler lip, sideskirts and rear diffuser, in addition to the standard 6 Series Hamann parts - carbon fiber hood, trunk spoiler, wheels, and interior dress up bits.
Bet you never saw an Isetta like this before! Well, neither have we. The three-wheel Isetta was never much of a performance vehicle, until now…
What you see here is more engine than car, featuring a 1959 Isetta essentially strapped onto a superchaged Chevy V8 502 cubic inch engine putting down 730hp, with just two gears on its manual transmission. Forced induction is handled by a BDS supercharger and the powertrain also features twin Holley 750 CFM double pumper carburetors, and Zoomies exhaust headers that shoot flames 4 feet long.
The Isetta dragster adds to its inherent Bavarian-ness with a M3 suspension system and comes with dual circuit disc brakes, AP balance bar, chromed five spoke front wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich G-Force tires. The rear wheel … CONTINUED
A speculative render of a still speculative model - the BMW M2 Convertible. According to BMW insider Scott26:
Such a concept remains a possibility, especially with the M2 becoming a series production car. The rear lights are similiar but in the actual car they wrap around in the opposite direction as proved by a recent bodyshell spy photograph. Aerodynamics are still too dramatic.
