The first Frozen Gray M3 has now been delivered to the US – to a lucky owner in California. The story is that he was granted the very first one in the US “due to his ridiculously large collection” of BMWs. He supposedly has almost every M car bmw has ever made in his collection.

Congrats to the BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team as they have now moved into the top of the GT Manufacturer point standings after four rounds of competition in the 2010 ALMS! They were able to do this with a second- and fourth-place GT class finishes in this weekeend’s Utah Grand Prix.

There is just something about an european delivery which inspires our members to journal the entire experience. The latest comes from PicassoM’s delivery of his 2011 Melbourne Red M3. Here is the first on-board video of the BMW 1M concept that we have seen. Rough translation: The driver first is saying that the interior is still not finished and that the press-man should not give it to much attention. Then the press-man says that the car goes really much better than the 135i and that it must have a powerful engine at about 350PS (345HP) as it is an M. Then the driver says that this car is more about handling than only HP.. but he was then saying that it has much power as it is expected from M but he will not reveal any specs right now. This information is from BMW insider Scott26. According to him, on the heels of the BMW X6s success, they have been investigating downsizing the range and bringing the Sport Activity Coupe idea to the X3 range but with a bit more functional flair added and BMW would use the term Sport Activity Sedan. Such a car would likely be dubbed the X4. Internally, the car is known as the X-Style. The same ideas that went into the X6 would be translated to the X4, namely a more sloping and sleek roofline as well as bulging fenders giving the car a wider and lower look compared to its X3 counterpart. It seems that not only did US folks have to act fast in getting onto the exclusive 30-spot reservation list for the Frozen Gray M3, but they are now being required to sign a paint disclosure. Whether this is due to the sensitive nature of the matte finish paint or to avoid potential litigation from Frozen Gray M3 owners is not known.

The following recommendations are on the paint disclosure:

Never polish or wax the frozen gray paint as it could lead to a glossy surface.
If washing your frozen gray M3 in a automatic car wash choose a car wash that does not apply vehicle wax. Rinse the M3 with high pressure water to remove dirt … CONTINUED

By all accounts, the F01/F02 7 Series has been a success for the company in terms of sales. 2012 will mark mid cycle of the lineup and according to BMW insider Scott26 the top of the line car will get a few slight changes to bring it into line with the rest of the range.The overall headlight shape will be unchanged but incorporate LEDs.

The front bumper lower air intake will be modified and will be brought more inline with the original BMW 7-Series ActiveHybrid Concept and upcoming BMW 6-Series.
Reprofiled rear spoiler
8 Speed Transmission and new more powerful engines (power boost for the V8).
