Well, as some of you may remember, Mr. Clarkson made a point of showing how poorly the BMW SAVs performed off road. BMW shot back quickly with their snow driving youtube videos, but now Clarkson’s own magazine, Top Gear now seems to approve of the off road capabilities of the X6.
The 400+ horsepower twin-turbo V8 2011 550i (F10) (all details here) made its U.S. debut today at the 2010 NY Int’l Auto Show. It made its appearance in style by being driven into the spotlight during the press conference. Sophisto gray is a hard color to capture, but we think we’ve got some pretty good representations of it in our photos.

Here are exterior and interior photos of the space gray 2011 535i from the floor of the BMW display at the NY International Auto Show. This represents the U.S. premiere of the F10 535i. A 2011 550i is also present, which we will cover a bit later.

Specifically targeted towards the Chinese market, the all new F10 5-Series now comes in a Long Wheel Base version, dubbed the Li. Not only is this car designed and marketed towards the Chinese buyer, but the car will actually be produced in a new facility in China as well.
Many a E90post member is afflicted with the “mod bug,” but member ‘saferisk’ has got it bad. All the better for us as we can live vicariously through his major E92 335i-to-M3-look conversion. The look will be M3, but the performance will be upgraded based on the factory N54 engine. Follow the already underway impressive build inside!
We bring you the first ever sighting of the next generation 6-series coupe (F12)! Until now, only the 6-series convertible prototype has been spotted. This 6-series coupe prototype clearly differs from the convertible in the larger rear window, different side windows, and different B-pillars.
In the many F10 5-series reviews available thus far, one of the most praised aspects of the F10 has been its great ride quality. Richard Aucock, an automotive journalist, gives us some insight as to how BMW managed to improve on the 5-series ride quality from the E60. In his latest blog entry, he writes:

In a seeming reply from BMW about all the complaints over the flat black unpainted front bumper element seen on all the previously spied X3 prototypes so far, this new set of photos shows off the car with a painted lower front bumper element and a silver middle intake trim piece. Autocar is claiming that the M6 will be no more when the next generation 6-series arrives. Instead, its role will be filled by a V8 sports car based on the Vision Efficient Dynamics concept, powered by the F10 M5′s twin turbo 4.4L V8, which will compete with the Audi R8 head on. This contradicts insider sources which have stated that the Vision ED car is not intended to compete with the R8.
