One of our 435i xDrive owners has detailed his experience from some recent quarter mile runs:
I had been looking for some official 1/4 mile times on the car and I just haven’t seen anything reliable. I went today to see what the car would do with me driving it.
Car has 3100 miles and is an 8 speed auto. I had never used or tried launch control so I only got it to work on my last of 4 runs. It was my best time but barely. I didn’t give it any more runs to learn the track so maybe it would have gone slightly faster I don’t know.

Last time we saw the X4 M Sport, it was heavily camouflaged, but it has now revealed much of itself as we approach the online debut of the X4 in mid-March and its auto show debut at the New York International Auto Show in April.
Like the X3 M Sport, with which it shares a platform, the X4 M Sport Package will feature cosmetic enhancements such as the M Sport aerodynamic kit, M Sport wheels and shadowline exterior trim, as well as an M Sport steering wheel and interior.
The aerodynamic kit includes the M Sport front bumper, rear bumper, sideskirts and body color matched fenders, which can be seen on this prototype. This prototype also features the optional adaptive LED headlights.
The X4 will arrive at … CONTINUED

The first ever BMW X4 (F26) will be officially introduced in under 2 months at the 2014 New York Auto Show in April, which means it’s about time for the prototypes to drop nearly all their camouflage.
These photos now expose the X4′s front fascia design. We have also reposted the fully revealed production X4 which was caught during a commercial shoot in October. Some have labeled the X4 a “baby X6,” which is an accurate description judging by the looks of the photos below showing the X4 prototype following an X6 (F16) prototype.
We’ve also reposted a recent set of photos showing the scale of the X4 compared to the X3, with which it shares a platform. Their exteriors may be different, but they share … CONTINUED
Many BIMMERPOST members change their wheels for cosmetic reasons, but also to reduce unsprung weight. If BMW has its way, we could soon be seeing a massive reduction in BMW wheel weights by way of carbon fiber wheels. The i8 has already been announced with a CFRP wheel option, which saves 3kg / 6.6lbs per wheel, but Autoexpress appears to be reporting on CFRP wheels for standard non-i models.
According to BMW’s lightweight construction manager, Franz Storkenmaier, “we save 25 percent in weight compared to a forged alloy wheel with the hybrid wheel [with alloy spokes and a carbon fiber rim] and another 10 percent if it’s completely carbon.” Now BMW just has to convince European regulators that they’re strong enough to be safe on … CONTINUED
