The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) reported April sales of 25,247 vehicles, an increase of 19.6 percent from the 21,111 vehicles sold in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date, BMW Group is up 18.4% on sales of 90,204 in the first four months of 2011 compared to 76,162 in the same period in 2010.

BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg South Carolina, site of BMW X3, BMW X5 and BMW X6 production has made the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) Top 20 List of On-Site Generation.

BMWNA and its new top marketing executive, Dan Creed, is currently searching for a new ad agency to help spend its estimated $160 million advertising budget. And the vast majority of the budget will go towards TV advertising. The advertising budget breakdown, as Creed told dealers at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in February will be: 68% for national TV, 8% for local TV, 15% for digital marketing (internet and mobile device ads), 2% in movies, and 7% for print advertising.

BMW’s head of German Sales, Karsten Engel and Dingolfing Plant Manager Wolfgang Stadler today announced production of the 8th Million BMW produced at the plant and destined for the Piepenbrock Group. The vehicle was accepted in a ceremony by Olaf Piepenbrock to expand his own fleet of over 100 BMWs.

Just a a day ago, when I first read that Frank Weber, Chevrolet Volt lead engineer turned Opel executive, it got my mind thinking. Likely some sort of internal politics? Disagreement on strategies? The BMW Group sold more vehicles in March than ever before in a month. The company sold a total of 165.842 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand vehicles in the past month, not only significantly exceeding the figure for March of last year (141,717 units / +17%) but also the previous sales high of 152,721 vehicles recorded in December 2007.
