Worldwide demand for BMW Group vehicles continues to develop positively. The company reported record monthly sales once again in October. With 165,851 (prev. yr.: 157,621) BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles delivered worldwide, sales were 5.2% higher than in the same month last year. Between January and October 2013, sales increased by 7.3% to reach a new all-time high of 1,602,018 vehicles (prev. yr.:1,493,154).

BMW Group on course after good third quarter
Munich. Despite challenging and volatile business conditions, the BMW Group continued on its successful course during the third quarter and first nine-month period of 2013 and maintained its position as the world’s leading premium car company.
Group revenues in the three months from July to September were on a similar level with the previous year and totalled € 18,750 million (2012: € 18,817 million;
-0.4%). Profit before financial result (EBIT) was almost on par with last year’s, which stood at € 1,928 million (2012: € 2,002 million; -3.7%). The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) reported October sales of 33,274 vehicles, an increase of 2.9 percent from the 32,339 vehicles sold in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date, the BMW Group (BMW and MINI combined) is up 10.6 percent on sales of 295,474 in the first ten months of 2013 compared to 267,267 in the same period in 2012.

The BMW Group continued its successful course in September with another record month in sales. With 189,675 (prev. yr. 177,726) BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles delivered worldwide, sales were 6.7% higher than in the same month last year. In the first nine months of 2013, sales increased by 7.5% to the new all-time high of 1,436,178 vehicles (prev. yr. 1,335,502).

Adrian van Hooydonk is in overall charge of BMW Group Design, which embraces all the Group’s brands, and is thus responsible for design at BMW, BMW i, BMW Motorrad and MINI, as well as Rolls-Royce. BMW Group reported its highest ever sales for the month of August, with a total of 139,648 vehicles delivered worldwide, an increase of 14.8% over the same month last year (prev. yr. 121,628).
