BMW of North America today announced a modest inflationary price increase for some Model Year 2015 vehicles, effective October 1, 2014. The Destination and Handling fee for all models is $950 and is included in the following list for current and new prices. See inside for the adjusted pricing.
Please note that there are no price changes for other models.
BMW M GmbH will get a new chairman from 1 January 2015, with Franciscus van Meel taking over from retiring chief Dr. Friedrich Nitschke.
The appointment is notable because van Meel, 48, joins BMW after leading Audi’s quattro GmbH division – and has not even joined BMW Group yet: his first day is 1 October.
Van Meel has worked at Audi AG since 1996, in chassis development and technical management, becoming MD of quattro GmbH in 2012.

Today, BMW Group celebrated the official opening of its newest Vehicle Distribution Center at the Port of Baltimore. The facility will serve 96 dealers within the Central and Eastern regions of BMW’s dealer network. Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America, and Craig Westbrook, Vice President – Aftersales, BMW of North America, were in attendance and spoke at the opening.

Munich. The BMW Group saw its most successful August ever with 145,902 vehicles delivered to customers around the world (prev. yr. 139,650 / +4.5%). Sales for the first eight months of the year are also higher than in any previous year with a total of 1,330,077 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles sold, an increase of 6,7% over the same period in 2013 (prev. yr. 1,246,502).

Today the BMW Group celebrated the opening of its first Driving Center in Asia, located in Incheon, Korea. The investment totals 75.5 million US Dollars up to 2020 (77 billion Korean won), and around 100 new jobs have already been created.

Germany’s BMW AG will unveil this week plans to build a new factory in Mexico, a government official said, as the company seeks to meet growing demand for premium cars.
News of the factory comes just days after BMW’s German rival, Daimler, announced similar plans, and adds to a growing list of companies plowing money into car making in Mexico.

The 2014 BrandZ Top 100 Global Brands Ranking has been released by Millward Brown, a global research agency specializing in advertising, marketing communications, and media.
The list places BMW as the world’s second most valuable automotive brand, behind only monolith Toyota. BMW places 32nd overall with a $25 billion brand value.
Mercedes placed 42nd, Honda 70th, Ford 84th and Nissan 90th.
