Motortrend takes on a direct comparison of the BMW 1M coupe and 2011 BMW M3 on the backroads. What’s their conclusion? Here are some of their more notable reactions.

A special edition M3 coupe has finally been announced for the North American Market. The “2011 BMW Frozen Black M3 Coupe” will be limited to only 20 units and be available for order on June, 16, 2011. Details, ordering info, and pricing details inside.
The current BMW E90 generation is soon coming to an end, including the E90 M3 sedan. Based on the official BMW production schedule (see below), all E90 3-series and E90 M3 sedan production will cease in October 2011. M3 coupe and convertible fans have some more time, however. The E92 M3 and E93 M3 will continue to be produced until at least June 2012 (along with the 3-series coupe and convertible). Whether they will be produced beyond June 2012 as 2013 model years is not yet known.
Moral of the story? Anyone interested in securing perhaps the last naturally aspirated M3 sedans, should place your orders in ASAP.

We previously reported that the famous E60 M5 ring taxi would be replaced by the M3. Here it is - the new ring taxi is now a E90 M3 and available for rides. Unfortunately, it appears that, as expected, Sabine Schmitz is no longer the ring taxi driver. It is now driven by the instructors from the BMW Driving Experience program - much like it used to be in past years.

The C63 AMG Coupe debuted recently to much buzz because it represents Mercedes’ best direct competitor to the BMW M3 coupe yet. Autobild has printed their first drive impressions comparing the two German sports coupes, and have also thrown in the RS5 coupe to include all 3 similar offerings from Germany’s top 3 luxury makes. Expect a more specific and technical comparison of the 3 cars soon. Here’s our translation.
This is a continuation of our earlier post covering the current BMW Individual cars on display at the factory-owned BMW dealership in Munich, by Dackelone. Three M3 Individual models are currently on display. The first one below is a Mineral White E92 M3 Coupe with plenty of M Performance Parts, including tri-color M stripes (EUR 498), black ZCP wheels (EUR 4,350), carbon fiber front lip spoiler, carbon fiber rear spoiler and carbon fiber mirror caps. Equally impressive is the Frozen Silver E92 M3 Coupe and the Macadamia Metallic E90 M3 with Champagne Individual interior.
