Here’s a first look at a M Sport Edition 6 Series. This 650i Convertible on display at the 2013 LA Auto Show is optioned with the M Sport Edition Package, first announced in May and which began production in July.
The M Sport Edition package is available on all models and engine variants for the 6 Series range. It includes everything in the traditional M Sport package, but adds new Dynamic Digital Instrument Cluster, Full LED Adaptive Headlights, and the Executive Package. On 650i and 650i xDrive models it also includes the Driver Assistance Package.

M6 Gran Coupe
Active Protection has been added to all M6 models to initiate protective measures for occupants if an accident situation is imminent: front seatbelts are pulled tight, windows are closed, and brakes are automatically applied after crash. Includes Attention Assistant, whereby the system’s electronics analyze driving behavior on the basis of various signals such as steering angle, road speed and other engine parameters. If the system increasingly detects signs of fatigue starting to build up, it issues a notification via the central Control Display to encourage the driver to take a break.

Little more than a year before the EU6 exhaust emission standard comes into effect in September 2014, BMW is increasing the number of models that already fulfil the more stringent emission regulations. As early as in the summer of 2013, almost all models featuring the BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine will comply with the EU6 classification as standard. Moreover, by the summer of 2013, further four-wheel drive variants of the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 3 Series are to be added to the model range of the BMW brand. Alpina trotted out its upcoming B6 Gran Coupe for some Spring time testing and we’ve caught it fitted with Alpina front lip, trunk wing, wheels and exhaust system. The aero parts remain unpainted and no Alpina rear diffuser/bumper has yet been installed.
