"full kit" includes VEI system digital guage (the best, period, NEW high rez (0.1 resolution) model with lots of features) , fittings, tubes, etc... ( kits may get backordered if VEI cant keep up :D ) or the STRI X-Line gauge, which matches the interior lighting perfectly, but has no special features.

The vei gauge is NORMALLY 129 by itself, but I am hoping to get quanitity/dealer pricing.

Just a note guys, this is my pre-production unit... the final one will be better... a tad less "bulky" ... have the same shape, lines, and color, but will fit better, and won't have any gaps at all... the bottom edges that touch the dash will be a bit more "razor edged" on the final peice... its hard to get that with fabbing... so it will be done in the computer.

this was the 100% hand made version, the final peice will be slightly smaller, and better. I should be ready to start shipping the final units in 3-5 weeks.

Notice on the outside shots it is not tilted back, so light from the windsheild doesnt bother it really

The cigarette lighter backlight is an easy source, and the one that my install instructions will use. I have been using it for a few weeks now, perfect dimming, etc.

a gauge will not fit in the vent unless you perminently modify the vent, or the dash. I tried, a lot... :D Its too short

The last gauge pod I did for a corrado g60 was a vent gauge, so that was my obvious first choice

Just a note guys, this is my pre-production unit... the final one will have the same shape, lines, and color, but will fit better, and won't have any gaps at all. Since the unit pictured is the one that is 100% hand made, its hard to get the sharp lines needed to be flush with the dash. The final unit will be FLUSH :thumbsup:

The unit that fits better is at the laser-prototyping company to get digitized, its basically the same thing, just a bit "tighter"

Not that anyone was complaining about this one... I will get day photos tomorrow

This is the only place to buy the pod, unless you want me to sell you a prototype for like $400-600 bucks... because it costs me a ton to make a prototype compared to the mass produced version that is coming soon

honestly, I have only run it in the daytime. It has a dimmer... with adjustable brightness.

I beleive O-Cha and eugen both have this same gauge, maybe they can chime in

it goes into the pilar, if you open the driver door, the side panel of the dash pops off, and you have easy access to everything, and can pop it right up into the pod

Install instructions will be posted when the time comes, and also included in the package

as far as a picture of the side... the side that goes against the pilar is completely hollow. the other side of this is just an empty cavity...

Here is a pic from when I was fabricating.... you can see that the oppisite side is wide open... it actually snugs itself between the window and the pilar cover nicely

the gauge alone is 129 if you were to buy it seperate, so its 299 for the full kit (which is 10 bucks off retail price of the gauge plus $180 for the pod)
Not to mention the kit will come with all the other goodies for install, the retail gauge comes with nothing

it is THE BEST digital gauge, PERIOD... very accurate, and can calibrate for your elevation

The side panel pops off the dash very easy, and you can tuck the wires right up into the pilar and pop them out into the pod

It's fine at night. The color of the VEI gauge does not match exactly the color of the OEM gauges. It looks good though. The VEI gauge is a very good electronic vac/boost gauge providing every function I want for a good price. You can get better color matching 52mm boost gauges which will also fit in this pod, but they probably will not provide the functions of the VEI.

This boost gauge is for a VW MKV GTI/GLI. My friend has it in his car, and it looks awesome. It doesnt look like alot of the gauges out there that look out of place. Yes, the air vent is pretty much obsolete with the gauge there, but I would definitely sacrifice the use of the vent for a nice gauge that does not look out of place and actually looks good.

Too bad the vents in the 335 are SHORTER than a 52mm gauge, and you would have to chop the dash and vent :D

While the pod looks good, I don't think it'll meet my needs. The problem with the pod as you've designed it is that the gauge will be visible on the windshield from the driver's seat, obstructing night vision.

This picture doesn't capture what it'll be like when the gauge is lit and it's truly dark outside, but I predict a fairly severe degradation in night-time visibility on that side.

What's necessary is some fairly deep cowling, similar to that over the instrument cluster. This would also help with daytime glare, which another poster has pointed out might also be an issue (though I think a lesser one).

the dual gauge setup wont be for a while... if I end up making it at all. If only say... 20-30 people want it... its not enough to pay for my costs...

The photos look different because they are at different stages of the prototype... I am still shaping it and perfecting it... the final product will look *glorious*... :D read the last part of the first post about the pre-production photos

I have to slightly alter the contour (nothing noticable) for it to wrap without any seams, I am almost done, and I will post a photo probably tomorrow

The color of the leather matches perfect, but the grain is slightly too large.. I have other samples coming in as well until i get it just right
