Stock Brakes for Trackdays

What pads are available to use for trackdays?What rotors are available that are non-drilled again to use with stock calpers.I have used drilled rotors and have nothing but problems with them with cracks probigating from the holes in the disc after only 2 hours of use on a relativly non demanding circuit.I have been told that only non drilled discs should be used for track duty.

BMW themselves are going to offer race compoud brakes. I'm not sure when they'll be available.

If you crack the stock rotors, they're under warranty. That's one good thing.

I am not sure about the warranty on brakes in Canada.But what I was thinking was taking the stock brakes off and putting the "upgraded" rotors & pads on and when I go sell the car put the stock stuff back on.I only intend to keep this car for at the most a year and replace it with one with DCT,once I think they have it sorted out.I had drilled rotors on a c6 Vette and they would start cracking after very little track use and I do not want to repeat that.

I just checked on the BMW Canada website and to have your pads & rotors covered you have to buy an upgraded service package.It was a good thought though!

Thanks I will forward the part #'s to parts guy and see what he can come up with.This would be the easiest way to get some proper braking for the track.I have used the Motorsport pads before(Pagid?)with very good results.

i used pagid yellow on my m3e46 and they worked very very well...only thing is they are not allowed on the street in germany...so now i hope the bmw's race pads can compete with pagid..

nurburgring is like going on a normal street..only quicker :-)
