Ya but I know the guys they are the ones that develop the extention flairs and OEM flairs for the 96 corvette grand sport. Those are sold @ http://www.grandsportregistry.com/store.htm
part #GSR0013 & #GSR0062
They do quality work, I should have mine done this weekend.

He has one low feedback from 2005.... not that big of a deal and based on the feedback it looks like the customer/seller was pissed because he wrote bad feedback first.

hmm... i might pick these up... It is ridiculous to pay 75$ for a tiny pos reflector.

Just contacted Brad - Evosport can supply them now. They won't be any bargain, but they are a first class outfit and I trust their work.

No, I didn't ask. I just told him to make me a set. I got my E46 ones from them years ago. At least the E92 ones are flusher to the surface.

I sent them an email, so I guess I'll find out soon... thanks!
my e46 ones are horrible... they don't sit flush at all ... gaps galore!

Group buys involving third parties aren't worth the extra hassle, IMO, but I wouldn't do eBay.

Thanks Greg.
Just as an FYI, the ones listed on eBay are e46 in the image. I would be curious to know if they have any of the correct style. We have had them on order for a while and they are NOT in the US - National Back Order through BMW.
We only use original OE parts to guarantee an original fit and use Factory paint as opposed to less expensive paint (it may look the same at first, but it will not weather the same as the factory parts will).
I would caution anyone to know what they are getting. Yes, ours are more expensive - and there is a reason. The lenses themselves will be $30-40, then you add paint and clearcoat. If anyone is doing it for $40 painted I would be very interested to know HOW they are doing that with OE parts and OE paint.
The market will be the judge, but I would think on a BMW, especially a $70K new M3, a customer would want something that is of the same build quality and finish as their new baby.
We have never been a low price leader, but what we do offer is a great value and high quality.
Off my soap-box now!
thanks

i just trust the guy coz i got a few things done by him, and he seems to get the best color match coz he's a car enthusiast and not a vendor. he just does things to make our cars look nice, not to make money.
he's a member on the forum, so just pm longtran

how come? urs confused me. they seemed to match in some shots, and seemed to mismatch in others. that's why we go to longtran
Here's why. Longtran can't do anything to fix this.
I just picked up my repainted reflectors from the body shop. It wasn't an issue with the color not matching the rest of the body, it's actually the shape of the reflector itself. The reflector doesn't follow the shape of the rest of the bumper, meaning the entire bumper follows an exact curvature all the way around. The reflector deviates from that curvature and reflects a different angle and thus a different image and lighting. If you're in an environment where there are many differently shaded and/or physically opposite objects, then you'll see the difference. But if you're in a position where the bumper and reflector reflect the same object, such as a blue sky, then you won't see a difference. This wasn't the case with the E46 M3 reflector, as it had the same curvature as the bumper itself. I'm attaching a few pictures to show what I mean.
Bumper/reflector reflecting different elements of the environment:

BMW sells the OEM reflecters at $12.98 each (pair $25.96) to distributers. the amount of paint required for these reflecters is very small. Even if you were useing the most expensive paint lines you would be looking at MAX $10 per set in paint supplies.
If they make $5 per set thats their choice. I use to work in auto repairs so I would say I have a fair share in pricing knowledge.

yah i have no idea why bmw went for this design where they stick out. on a white car it'll be alright i think, but on metallic colors it will have different shades. Maybe smoked or clear reflectors would do? :confused2.
urs doesnt look bad at all btw..

They are making much more than $5 per set. Shipping is $15 and they raised the price to $45. So, if your cost calculations are close, I'd say they are making $20 per set.

I am just curious why you don't paint them yourself. I have done several items by myself and they came out perfectly. It is not rocket science to paint them. Here is where I order my paint. BTW, they can also add "flex additive" for plastic parts. I plan on doing it myself:

Everytime I used them, their paint matches perfectly.

This is a good idea.
Could the following be done and would it look good?
1. Remove the orange reflectors,
2. tape around the hole to protect the adjacent paint on the bumper
3. Fill the opening with Bondo and sand it to make it flush (sand only the bondo doing the best not to sand the actual bumper.
4. Spray paint the bondo using the recommended process.
5. Remove the tape around to opening and spray paint the clear coat feathering it into the surround area of the bumper.
How would this look, even if is is slightly noticeable i think it would look better than the painted reflectors. thoughts? Why isn't anyone else doing this?

few problems,
1.) when sanded down to flush it would have no structural integrity. someone slightly touches your bumper or from high winds on freeways would crack the bondo where it meets teh bumper and eventrually fall into the bumper area exposing the holes.
2.) you will never be able to feather the paint . you can blend it into teh bumper but you would still be looking at painting and clearing 50% of the front bumper. if already doign that you might as well remove the bumper patch it correctly with fiberglass bonding andfinish with bondo for smooth serface and a complete paint job of the front bumper so you dont have to worry about the paint matching.
3.) way to high of risk of scratching the bumper paint that would lead to a bumper repaint anyways.
All in all you are talking about making this a $200 + project when the painted reflectors sell for $60Shipped from ebay to $75+ shipping from other companies.
If you want a clean job have a shop patch it and paint the ful bumper for a quality job not mickey mouse it.
I am working with my body shop right now to develop a flush mount peice. Hopfully it will be done within the next few weeks.
