I'm down to meet up with everyone once we get a couple more of us with cars in hand around this area. It would be cool to meet up some place where a lot of these young cats with imports hang out...we could show them what a real sports car looks like

I would be up for meeting next month or if we want to wait until more people get delivery thats great too.

I was thinking e90 M sometimes too, if and when I get one, and use the 3k price difference between it and the coupe to offset the DCT cost. Add in the must have ZTP and iPod/USB FTW.

4-6 days after port arrival, NICE. That means I should get my car this week!!!
M3forJP
03-24-2008, 03:17 PM
Yup, I think the average is about 6 days but I've heard that it isn't uncommon for the turnaround to take as few as 4. Meanwhile, I'm planning on making sure that Passport throws in the M3 floormats when I take delivery. Seems like other dealers are doing this no problem so make sure you get yours as well.
JuniorDee
03-24-2008, 03:52 PM
Thanks for the heads up JP, when I sold my 335i I kept the All weather floor mats with the intention of using them in the M3. I dont see on bmwusa.com that they offer all weather floor mats for the M3. I am really happy with how they have held up and how they looked in my 335i.

car finished production and QC today waiting for transport to PDC, expected arrival is end of June. I have my car then
anyone else?
Quesiton for Boost or anyone who did PDC.
How much time did the dealer give you for a pickup date at PDC?
Did the dealer give you a choice before the car shipped either dealership delivery or PDC with a date?
BCMPOWER
05-24-2008, 09:51 AM
To do PCD you have to reserve a spot right after your car goes into production. I started this process about 2 months before I took delivery of my car. You submit a date request with your SA and they communicate with the Performance center what dates are available. When it gets closer to vehicle completion and 3 weeks from the original requested date and based on availability, I was given three sets of dates about a week or so apart. I was also pushed back because of the release of the X6 but also here that there is a wait list for owners now. All in all even if it delays your delivery it is an experience of a lifetime. Here is a link to my experience: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139130

JUNE! thats in a couple of days :bulge: wow!
my car finished production friday and waiting for transport, Fairfax put a priority 9 for Performance Delivery but still have to call me to choose my dates. Sometimes I want to just bypass the PCD and just get it at Fairfax. But I like to drive an M3 on the tracks at its different EDC settings so I'll know the best way to set the M drive.
yes! it would be nice for us to finally get together and have a cruise and small get together photo shoot. I love to take at drive at Leesburg or Hamilton back roads. The GM of Fairfax is open to have us if anyone of you guys just like the idea let me know.

I just played with the different power/EDC/ DCT settings and it does change the feel of the car. It's just awesome. I went to bed at 2 am, taking some sleeping pills so I can actually 'sleep' but woke up at 6:30 to stare at the car and hugging it... Jet Black is so menacing. I do think White shows the curves best but Jet Black is just so mean and in your face. While I was driving for that short 120 miles, I got so much stares from other ppl on the road that I feel like I have to tint my window ASAP. Not used to this. Created more attentions than
my mom's MB CLS. She drove the car for a short period and said, " Now I know why BMW drivers drive like a$$-Holes":bellyroll

Others may chime in later to congrats you, if not they may be jealous :mad0260:
What ! :bulge: your mom drives CLS! .........Tell her to upgrade it to a AMG
and yeah all the stares on the road is something to get used to. I know when they see me they'll think "Midlife Crisis" :D

Hey Ase, I have meet some of the members of this forum at the UMCP tuning event, Mtrizzy, and Umwolverine, I believe we all share the same interest in meeting other members. From the looks of this thread we are gaining in numbers and a BBQ or meet would definitly be in order. Sorry I haven't been checking up on the post that much, I have been busy at work.
Congratulations RealSanaii on your new car I would love to see your DCT in action. Honestly our cars do get a lot of attention to the point where people are speeding up to try to see it, or slowing down to get a better look. Jet Black has always been one of my favorite colors, I bet your car looks amazing.

Thanks! DCT is so awesome. It can be smoother than any MB's automatics but just so much faster! Also, when you put it on S-5, you get some feedback from the transmission, kind of like a surge/ head snapping sensation!
Also, the shifts are so fast!!! Hopefully, we all meet together and share the knowledge.

I picked my car on Friday and had to fill it up yesterday, with 1/4 left on the tank. It sure is thirsty but I'm getting about 16.3 MPG with some spirited driving ;)

Yes. And since now I have an M, I want to go to the racetracks to unleash it's power and hopefully we all can go together. Let's have a meet soon so you guys can check out the DCT:D
Also, if anyone has been to the track in this area, guide me to the right one!

ase2dais,
And you have to wait a whole month to do PCD......Is that worth a month of wait? If it was like a week, I would say go for it..but another month?

lolz well really 2 wks. since when it arrives port it takes about a week for VPC. add another 2 for Performance Center Delivery (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147015)....
it gets harder as it gets closer though, I could have drove to Cheasapeak Bay Bridge to just look and wave at the vessel if I knew abot this marine tracker this website earlier a little earlier.
Isnt that so anal?
Hows your Baby?
Pass 1,200 miles yet?

Nope. Because of the weird weather we are experiencing, I don't go out as much! If it were just rain, I would not care but there are trees falling out when storm comes so I just baby my car inside the garage. I still have to get used to the DCT 'cause I constatntly forget to upshift. Maybe it just wants to pass 5500 RPM ;).
Everything about M3 has exceeded my expectations and I just want to go to track and learn how to drive properly. Like an M driver should.

I think the best start is the NCCBMWCCA Highway Safety School
then the 2 day driving school either at the Performance Center or the local ones offered by NCC at Jefferson or Summit
then wait for the one day annual event at NCC site for the M day... getting a full day of M driving at the PC for half the price. The NCC folks that register for that usually leaves together at Manassas somewhere for the drive down South.
If you follow that Track you will be a good driver at the end of the process that you may even want to become an instructor

Had my car for 12 days. I'm at 960 miles.
I made an appointment with my dealer next monday :happyanim:.
One question:
Is it usual for them to keep the car for more than 1 day? CA told me that they might have to keep the car for more than 1 day because of the inspection processes?
JuniorDee

Should take only one day, unless they curb your car like they did mine. Then it takes three days.
