So i finally drove the new E92 M3 today.(well at least in/out of the shop anyways):D I ve sat in and drove many 3 series in my days, but this 3 sounds WICKED...she doesnt sound like any 3 series or 335i i knew. Your whole body vibrates once the starter button is press. Pretty sick. Too bad she wasnt broken in yet i would ask the owner for a ride. Alpine White w/ CF roof is SEX on 19"s baby. I think this is the 1st full frontal wrap/tint in Norcal. Anyways time for pixs. enjoy

I have to say, being this was his first M3 and not knowing him before, I had some reservations. But as the pictures show, Vince did a great job on my car. He is meticulous with his work and a true perfectionist. All the positive reviews I read about Omega before deciding to go there were right on. None of my friends that saw my car today could even tell there was clear bra on. As for the tint, I've never seen someone apply tint so cleanly and so close to the edge of the windows- you can barely see where the film ends on the edges! To top it all off, his prices are very reasonable.

I can now drive my car on 101 without fearing all the debris on the road :cool!:

This clear bra stuff is not for everybody. It cost around 1500 to 2000 for this type of coverage. It is kind of pricy, but for some it a small price to pay to protect their baby. pm or call me w/ your needs

wait - so does this clear bra dull or haze over time? anyone had this on for more than a couple of years?

do you wax it like normal paint or do you just not have to worry about waxing the front of your car anymore?

Vince,

Have no fear, with the quality work you've been doing, the price is well worth it. Congrats to the owner, you've definitely picked the right person for the job. I'll be bringing mine to you, as well as my girlfriend's car as soon as the weather gets better...

Just out of curiosity....If a rock hit the clear bra on the hood at say a high velocity, wouldn't it tear the plastic leaving a gash. At that point, it would be so noticeable and you wouldn't be able to repair it without re-doing the entire hood. If a rock hit the actual paint and chipped the paint, one can at least touch it up carefully and it would be for the most part unnoticeable.

My cars in the past have been the kit and after 4 years I had 3 chips that I touched up that missed the front strip. I would do the kit I think and then add a small piece of clear bra on the front of the power dome. Both are quite easy to replace by one's self.

I do run the big, thick clear plastic over the lights. It really protects the headlights and turn signal lights. Over the years the clear plastic took quite a few big hits as the plastic had lots of gashes in it. They only cost about $40 and I replace them myself when they get enough chips.

it depends what hits you - it takes a pretty big hit to tear the film. my wifes 535ixT took a big hit on the bumper. it tore the film a small hole about 3 mm. Bain came and repaired it by smooting th eedges. you barely see it. without the film I am sure the object would have pierced the plastic bumper and we would have probably been in for a repaint of the front.

as it is you barely see the hole now.

Ill get those tomorrow.
The work he does is excellent. He mentioned there was a special way that the area was treated and as a result the matrix is less noticeable.

Are you supposed to wax the car before? And what about waxing the car? I imagine you wont be able to wax the front of it?

I ask because I've been wanting to do this to my next car.

The installer will clean the surfaces and apply the film - no need to wax first. I have Venture Shield film and Vince (of Omegawerks) told me to wax it as I would any other surface. I'm told the film has a layer of clear coat on it just like paint.
