Has anyone heard of this company RDSport?

They are offering a "Motor Tuning" that brings the M3 to 534HP.

RDSport is a very respectable tuner. I've seen some of their work on the M5. If just a chip brings the car to 448 that's not too shabby, but $40,000 for 534 HP? LOL no thanks.

I wonder about upgrades like this. Is there really enough of a market to justify blowing this kind of money for R&D?

It does make you wonder how many people out there worldwide are willing to spend that kind of dough.
I am also going under the assumption that the "Motor Tuning" is a displacement increase similar to what Dinan is offerring for the m5/m6.
And that brake kit better be carbon ceramic for that price.

F...that. If I wanted to spend an extra 40K....I wouldn't be driving an M3!

That is either a typo with the decimal point in the wrong spot or that is the price for a race prepped M3 or something. The stage 1 software looks interesting. 30Hp from a tune!

I mean ive never excessively tuned my car and all that but $40,000 for only 534hp?? lol i mean if im not mistaken you can push 750 plus hp for about $15,000 from those turbo kits. this is a big rip off

I must certainly agree with most of the above. While I really donīt think you can push 750 hp reliably with a $15K turbo system (that’s a bit of a stretch I think), you can certainly get to about 600 hp with about $30K (Mosselman turbo system estimates, etc…). I think the package these guys offer contemplates y major brake upgrade, spoiler kit, wheel/tires, engine mods, etc… that I think may be worth that much!!! Hell, good brakes alone will cost you around $8K and above!!!

Rd sport is no closer to offering a flash for the M3 then I am and I dont know shit about performance tunes. They post that they offer these mods yet NOBODY HAS THEM! I have not heard of a single person who has their "black box" for the 335 which looks like an xede. SUPPOSEDLY somebody has a turbo upgrade from them (which has been on their website for over a year) but that is based on what Samir said and he has yet to post pics. They are a phantom tuner.
I've had the Black Box for my 335 for about a year. Quit being a douche and actually try ordering some product. Most people never even go onto car forums, so don't base your opinions on other posts. Every RDSport product I've owned has been amazing, and I can honestly say their products and designs are my favourite out of all the other tuners out there.

Wow! How many other tuners do you have experiance with?
534 Horsepower comes from a 4.5 Liter stroker motor.
Completely irrelevant. I was just making a point that they aren't a "phantom tuner" and a fair number of people have their products. Fisker Automotive used an RDSport engine conversion for their M6 based Latigo which produced something like 650hp. Certainly fewer customers than ACS, Hartge, Hamman, etc.. but RDSport did had some problems a few years with their US importer back which really compromised their business in this regard. From the complete cars, body kits, exhausts, wheels, etc.. that I've seen they are my favourite tuner.

Got it, I think you have a fair point and good to know someone knows them. I still perplexed at why they never responded to emails etc... everyone else does.

Do you have any more details on this. Even for a stoker $40K seems way up there. Not even Dinan charges that for the storker M5 and M6 V10 engine.

dinan charges 5 dollars shy of 40k for their engine and requires a few other costly items that pushes it well over 40k.
hmmmm. Didn't know that either. Learn something new every day. It is a V10however and it is said that the Dinan V8 stroker will be closer (actually below) $32K. I got this out of a source that spoke to Mr. Dinan directly (they are good friends). But then again, that is here say and entirely unconfirmed.
My personal experience with Mercedes tuners (donīt have any really with BMW tuners yet) is that it can get really, really expensive depending on what you want. But I do know first-hand you can easily spend over $40 grand on a reliable Mercedes engine tuner to double output! Plus another huge amount in proper transmission, differential, suspension, brakes/wheels/tires, and aerodynamic modification to keep power equal to chassis etc
performance.

My mistake they actually did develop about 3 of the 30 products listed on their 335 product list. Ive contacted them numerous times about their turbo upgrade packages. Two more weeks two more weeks. The point I was trying to make, and it is a valid one, is that I wouldnt hold my breath for this ecu tune that they are supposedly developing. We are all stoked u like your black box.

Its the essentially the same thing as the S85 V10 Stroker that they offer.
Here's what they say about the 5.6l S85
The V-10 RS 56 uses much of the same technology found in the latest F1 motors: billet crankshaft, billet rods, and a set of forged pistons that are amongst the lightest to ever find their way into a production-based motor.
The ported cylinder heads boast 17% more efficiency than the stock ones, and this is mainly obtained through the use of larger valves and modified cam profiles.

I've been on m5board since its inception and have heard / read about rdsport, but have not seen any members on that particular forum to have installed anything more than the basics - exhaust, chip, etc.
