We have been working on our brand new Bastuck system for the E92 M3 and finally put took pictures and videos.
There are two options offered by Bastuck:
1. ClubSport
2. MotorSport
Basically, Clubsport is their TUV Approved exhaust with a nice "under the radar" growl and throaty tone, while the Motorsport version is the non-TUV approved, mean beast of an exhaust.
Both are bolt-on with minimal downtime and both sound and look amazing with very different characteristics.
The MotorSport is a little "Crude". It is basically a straight pipe exhaust with small resonators and single-wall, single tips (yes... single tips: Round 76mm). It barely weighs 24lbs, compared to the OEM exhaust's 55lbs and is meant for the racer at heart with a "Track M3". Very free flowing and certainly "different" in terms of looks, but still amazing
Check out the videos and pics of the MotorSport. More on the ClubSport version later....

Why on earth would you only use one tip per side?

Less weight. There probably is a flow advantage as well. It doesn't look good though.

24lbs compared to 55lbs very respectable weight loss, for club racing function over form. I do like how both systems are interchangeable have the club sport for daily driving and the motorsport for track days.

We thought the same when we saw the system, but in person, it is pure "RACE CAR". This was built and designed, targeting the "Track Day" customer and all about freeing up the beast within.... and it really does....
After having it on the car for a couple of days, I would have it on there all the time.... it's amazing...

There difintely is, It is pure straight through with a small resonator section. No Drone and no headache, inside the cabin, while the sound is amazing.

The interchangeable setup is the best part about this.
If you are a weekend racer, you can purchase the ClubSport version for daily driving and than, just the MotorSport option and intechange them for the Track Day

Nice sound and I can appreciate the single tips. That being said why nit go with an oval shaped single tip that actually fills up the gap a little better?

How much does the Clubsport weigh? Is it a full system or just a backbox? Powergains?
Julius@WheelSTO
03-30-2008, 01:10 AM
The club Sport weighs about 50lbs - a reduction of about 5~10lbs.
The power gains are about 4~5 HP and about 3~4 ft-lb of torque.
Pretty respectable for just switching the rear canisters!!
The dyno is from the German site: www. bastuck.de

How is this considered bolt on when you still have to cut and weld that connector plate on the pipe? Doesn't bolt on mean no fabrication required? Or are the fancy ball connectors in the kit as well?

The Bastuck system does not require any cutting. Simply unbolt the OEM exhaust and install the Bastuck using the OEM clamps. The Bastuck Motorsport system was designed for the weekend track guys for an easy swap.

Can you pm me pricing on the clubsport version? Also, do you have pics of how this bolts up with the stock pipes (and therefore requiring no cutting/hacking of stock exhaust components)?
bastuck@wheelsto

I like how the flow of the pipes is straighter than other brands.
We like it too- Bastuck really tried their hardest to focus on performance for the MotorSport system, using the straightest piping possible, with a tip design that was more focused on saving weight than appearance. Although it's not a traditional BMW exhaust system, I like that they had a very specific design goal for the system, and met it.
