Was never a fan of the RD kit for the E46, and I like their kit for the E90 even less. Maybe if they got rid of those two round circles inside the front grill. Wheels are nice though!

Interesting pics of RD's process of developing their aero kit. Anyone know what all those stickers/labels on the car are for?

wow thats neat, I bet those stickers are to give points of reference for the digital camera, but I have no clue.
i gotta say, after all that digital work, that kit sucks ass for the sedan, probably would look sick on a coupe im betting
And what are they doing to the bottom side of the car and part of the trunk!? :confused2

The kit overall ain't so bad, just those two circle things in the front bumper gotta go. I like their wheels a lot too.

in some cases stock is best, over-doing it can spoil it. there's no way I'm modding my E90. It's staying like that forever.

The little dots are reference points for putting the car's 3D model into a fluid dynamics computer simulation. That way you don't need an actual wind tunnel to test aerodynamics. It's a very very processor intensive type of computing though. The software probably runs on a very fast Silicon Graphics visualization server or they rent time on an even faster machine. Either way, for a computer engineer like me, that kind of thing is as fun as fun gets. :)

Very cool. I guess that means RD actually does do wind tunnel testing simulation on their aero parts then. Good to know.
Anyone seen any pics of the actual racing dynamics kit?

I think one of these two holes is there for the active cruise control radar (the cyclops eye), but they seem to have added another one for symmetry.

Im not sure if thats what the final kit will look like because that looks like a photoshop or artist rendering.
Plus i think they would put a little more effort into following the e90s body line rather than just strapping on the same looking kit from the e46 on this one.
The typhoon kit for the 645ci looks very promising.
Hopefully the final RDsport Production kit will look better.
I was at Racing Dynamics in Milano to test the new RD conversion for the 335i, as I am taking delivery of mine in a few weeks and I wanted to see what RD was offering for the car. They had me drive a Monaco Blue 335i with no exterior mods, just 20" RS2 wheels, and 2 narly cutouts in the rear valance to fit the quad exhaust.
I expected the car to be a lot quicker than my current M3, but the R35 Biturbo (I think this is wat they will call it, as they kept referring to it as such) will give the V10 M5 a run for its money.
One interesting discovery, as I was leaving their factory, I turned a corner a few blocks away and I spotted a red E92 with a body kit on it. I took some photos of it, but then one of the workers from the body shop came out and asked me to stop taking pictures. I asked what it was and he told me it was the new Racing Dynamics 3 series prototype. He said that there were still a few things to change but it was 95% there. Apparently RD runs this car at the Alfa Romeo test track in Balocco, near Milan, and then this body shop gets to repaint the car every time they modify any of the components.
It appears that the car has complete front and rear bumper replacements. I thought you might be interested in taking a look at what they are working on.

The silver one is awful but I like the front clip on the red E92. Not feeling the rear treatment though.

I forgot about this thread, but what I think looks funny with the front bumper are those two white styrofoam cups in front of the brake ducts.

what the hell is up with all these bodykit producers producing these rice ass, butt ugly kits for our cars? you can obviously tell that the people that think of this crap DONT drive BMWs. theres only a couple kits or lips that actually compliment our cars. whats up with that?? maybe the people that make kits should get on e90post and start a thread that allows US (the members) to draft a nice kit and then we could all vote and see whats up with the actual production! just an idea :confused2
100% agreed. :confused2

I think the front bumper on the red coupe without the circles looks pretty good. The designs they have currently for the M3 look weird with the center air inlet so much lower than the sides for the brake ducts, it looks like they wanted to differentiate it from the E46M3 and it just looks stupid, this front bumper is great, nice open air, you get to see the intercooler and it isn't too busy with a million things going on. I personally like it.

I just read on the site that they're already getting 420 hp from the 335i R35 biturbo.. That's impressive!! Hopefully you can order the engine-upgrade without the ugly bodykit..
