Apparently, the C63 is going to start at 63,500 in Canada with NAV and Premium Package as the only options. Looks like an incredible bargain. Has me looking hard at the C63 over the E90.

Its still not an M3!I have had AMG product in the past, but it does not stack up when real world handling is required.Fast in a straight line, but a true performance car does so much more than that!

Very true, but if I wanted the most performance for my money, I'd get the GT-R and save a couple of grand over the M3.

What I want is a fast, capable car that can handle the occasional run through some twisties, and is versatile enough to be a DD. The fact that the M3 is faster at 10/10ths on a track doesn't mean a whole lot to me as I don't plan to track either car.

That said, they will both get test driven before I decide.

I am not talking about 10/10ths but the tactile feel that a proper drivers car has.A 911 has it,so do the Bimmers but it does not exist in the AMG world. My wife had 2 SLK Amg's and they both went like stink, but where handfuls on a twisty bumpy road not to mention the automatics inhibited enjoyable driving.

Wow! But what are the options and prices? MB must be like BMW in the tempting add-ons.

Apparently, for the first year the only options are Premium Pack and Nav. Nav is 2500 on the regular c class and the premium pack is 4k and includes nav on the lower c-class cars.

Maybe for my wife but not for myself. There is no question Its great value for the money, but its still a conservative sedan that looks like a $40000 C230 with a sport package that happens to have a lot of horsepower.I also feel the same way about the IS-F.

I think that a look through the latest round of reviews will show you that the c63 isnt that far behind the new m3 in terms of driving performance. i would normally agree that an amg product doesnt come close to an M, but the c63 is not supposed to be like the older amg products.
i think this serves to highlight that the m3 is priced slightly higher than it should be here in canada.
a loaded m3 runs around 88grand (im including the m dct). With a loaded c63 looking to be around 70, thats a huge difference.

The dealers had it on Thursday,as there was an e-mail from our previous Benz dealer on Friday am.I think he has already put our name on one,but I do not think that we will want one as we are very pleased with both our BMW's.

The biggest problem will be the lack of availability of the C63.If you did not order 1 6 months ago you probally will not see 1 till next year,at least in the GTA!

It's really well priced, comparable to the US price too..That's what all auto company should do, instead of raping us with hiked up prices..

If you look at the MB Canada site you will notice that the CDN specs do not have the performance package, with the upgraded brakes,19' wheels and lsd not to mention some other minor items. This will probally add at least $10000 to the pricing because the same package on an SLK 55 is $8500 and does not include the diff.My dealer told me that it is an option on the car but no pricing as of yet.Looks like it is really priced the same as an M3 in Canada not the bargain that everybody was enthused about.

The C63 AMG retails for about $65k less than the E63 AMG! ($70k loaded to $136k loaded).

The difference between a loaded M3 and loaded M5 isn't that much, is it?

Totally agree. My buddy picked up a 335i coupe for 67G, we thought it was okay until we decided to drop by Benz next door and found that the C63 going for 63,500 MSRP!

Also the Lexus IS-F is going for 64,400 MSRP and it comes with a lot more than the basic M3. There is only one package available for 4,100 and you get a fully loaded IS-F for 68,500.

It's good to see that companies are now treating us Canadians a lot more equally, but BMW needs to step up and make some changes too! Our M3 is priced higher than Skyline GT-R in the states! Now, I have no doubt I will go for the M3 but if the price remains the way it is in Canada, though I would like to support Canadian business, I think I will just have to be patient and import one.

Faisal

when are they going to drop prices in order to compete C63?
