The time is getting closer! Here is what's on the agenda so far...

Date: April 1, 2006 No Joke!! :D

Time: 11:30am?

Place:

http://imgs.maps.yahoo.com/mapimage?MAPData=whLe7fhyzy3mFx4tLRi.ugbH5lZGno3_w Crdm2MYH4C5EJ178NoXPkYpG28.cMntG8MesZNDlfmsP6dwPzu Z8rXO6GuiT9VhZ584PxPvBzn9CPLJpOhq6tu9k2WTf7JiFg--

I think meeting up in the old ALBERTSON'S Parking Lot(Top Level) will be good for us. One of the stores here is the Burrito Shop, 3256 Lakeshore Ave, Oakland, CA 94610. Use this as the meet address because the parking lot doesn't have an addy! Meeting in Emeryville would be a HUGE traffic mess and we would get separated alot more than usual.

Plans: I was thinking of meeting up at the parking lot on Lakeshore Ave. There are plenty of shops and places to eat. After that, we can take a drive thru Redwood Road. There are a couple of places to stop and take some real nice scenic shots! After that, we can continue the drive to Emeryville(although it a Traffic Nightmare), or Treasure Island or Ocean Beach? Maybe stop by Weatherford, or SF BMW and freak them out? :) Maybe visit local euro tuner shops if anyone knows of any in the area? Take lots of pics and shoot much shit. :D

Emeryville is a good place, I think. It's easy to find because it's right off the freeway and that shopping center has that hugeee parking structure.

CALIF65GM: make sure you can make it. I've been waiting to check out a mystic blue e90 in person.

As far as what to do. I think we can spend about an hour in the lot checking out each other's car, waiting for few inevitably late arrivals, taking pics etc. I suggest we go for a drive afterwards. There should be plenty photo opportunities during the drive. I really had fun last time in our south bay meet where we had a group of e90s going for a drive.

I'm not too familiar with the Berkeley/Emeryville area so I can't suggest any roads. Danny if you know some scenic mountain roads that'd be ideal. Otherwise we could meet in Ocean beach (that's in SF right?) and drive up/down the pacific coast/hw1. Only problem with going down HW1 is that it tends to be crowded on a good day. Last time I drove down that road I had to constantly pass slow moving vans/suvs/wagons/you name it.

I recall last time Hsiaochinsan and I went for a drive in Calaveras and it's very fun. I don't necessarily think we had to go for a spirited drive, but just simply crusing in a scenic road should be fun for everyone.

Anyway just throwing out some ideas... let me know what you guys/gals think.

I doubt that. Volvos are excellent cars that just exude luxury and class. Besides, you will easily stand out among our sea of E90s that anyone will notice you right away. I think it will be a fun cruise with bunch of E90s and your Volvo.

That sounds about right for Long!!!! :D

Serious though, Reno is about 3.5 hours from where I am, and it's just under 300 miles oneway. I assume though, that going south will take ALOT more time with heavy traffic.

i wouldnt takea brand new car upto tahoe during teh winter. in the summer its not so bad..

when my parents first bought their mercedes a few years back, we drove it upto tahoe to ski and it was snowing on the way so this guy had to put on chains for our car. it ended up scratching the side panels of the car adn when we got back, we had to go get it fixed.

but if you wait until the spring when its not snowing and the weather is nicer, its not that bad of a drive. nice and scenic! :)

thats my grandma! whenever we go to tahoe, we go to reno too and my grandma will sit at a table all day and gamble. but shes good at it, so its okay :)

yeah, after that incident, my parents always rented when we go up there. we usually just get like a ford explorer that way, we dont need chains and its not ourrr car so we don't feel bad when we track our snow boots and ski equipment in and out of the car. :)

The drive to do is 92w, 35s (skyline), past Alices @ 4corners, 84w, 1n and then 92e back to the beginning. Lots of curves, great coastlone scenery and about the right amount of time. Its exactly where I'm going to go once I take delivery in April.

Just my $.02

easy trip, because no snow on the road.

leaving south tahoe on sunday, the storm was coming in. so everybody and their mom was trying to leave. a few snow flurries came down, but i beat the snow. heading closer to sac it started raining like a mofo and for the rest of the way.

i usually rent a suv too. but i got tied up on friday, and had to take myself there. every year my friends and i have a tahoe trip, and we rent a house for the weekend. on my other regular tahoe trips, we usually rent an suv or take a car that's ok for the snow.

No worries Rob! All the spots I've mentioned are *safe*! Lakeshore and Redwood Road are nice areas. Alot of Oakland's million plus $ homes are located in this area (Skyline/Redwood Road). All those rich folks like to shop at Lakshore, Jack London Square, Piedmont & Montclair.

+1 vote for drive.

Although I've been to Calaveras too many times lol.... Mt. Hamilton road is nice but it might be a bit far for people coming from Oakland. Actually, depends on how much time people have, there's a road connecting from Livermore all the way down to Mt. Hamilton. Mines road I believe. I've never drove that road before but I've heard nice things about it.

Otherwise, a drive around rich Oakland neighborhood is fun too ;)

Stock eh? Fortunately, BMW's even in stock form are wonderful cars! I mean it's not we are driving Hondas and having a mod-contest...DID I JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD? As much (or little) as I'm modding my E90, I still feel somewhat stock compared to what I have done in the past, mod-wise. But as I go, I have a strange, conflicting feeling. I want to buy alot of things for the car on one hand, but I also don't want to deviate too much from stock and lose the "luxury" feel. So, I'm about at the end of the road, not too many more things to do because I am not modding the engine/exhaust/drivetrain and I'm not installing bodykits.

10am is fine with me. And Danny I'll make sure I clean my car before the meet ;)

So we got uncommon white, mystic blue, and barrique red huh.. nice. As long as it's an all SG/black meet, it's cool. Do we also have xi drivers among us? I'm curious to see the ride height diff between xi and ZSP.

I think we should wait until Friday night to decide if we should reschedule this meet for another time. Another idea, if it's only suppose to rain Saturday morning, how about we meet at 1pm? The showers should be gone by then and we can still have our meet! How about Sunday?

Thoughts? I really want input from more members here regarding planning as I want to try and plan around what the majority wants to do! :D

Saturday: Showers. Highs in the upper 50s and lows in the low 50s.

Sunday: Cloudy with rain. Highs in the upper 50s and lows in the low 50s. it has changed again.

i'm down for whatevers. if it's light rain, it's no big deal to me, other than the car is not gonna be fully clean. and if we go on a drive, we'll have to be extra careful.

problem about waiting til friday night is the issue of communicating to everybody.

I think we should meet in other times when the weather is good. I don't wanna meet with a dirty car... But its up the majority's opinions. If you guys stillwants to meet on Sat, I will still go.

light rains is kool with me but heavier rain would be a drag.

I don't mind a little dirty car as long as we still can cruise around and meet a lot of people from this forum.

Saturday: Showers ending in the morning, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. High 58F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30%. i'm down to roll in light rain. car isn't clean, but it's not filthy either.

What is the final word on this? Rob is right, we should finalize plans now instead of later tonight.

Yay or Nay?? - The weather is supposed to be good until Saturday evening. I vote yes!

Time?? - If it's gonna get bad in the evening time, how about we shoot for something in between 10am and 1pm? I vote for 11:30ish.

Roll Call - Some of the members attending this meet are not from the immediate area. Out of courtesy to them, I think we should all make an attempt in confirming our attendance before hand. I will update the list now as one menber already told me he can't make it this weekend. It blows when somepeople drive from far out only to have just a few people show up. Not the kind of meet I want! If we need to reschedule just to get more heads out than we can always do that.

Tomorrow: Intervals of clouds and sunshine in the morning with more clouds for later in the day. High near 60F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. we've been upgraded!!

i vote yay! i'll be coming from the south bay, so 11:30ish works for me.

Sup guys!

I might have to cut my time short tomorrow. I'm usually down with meeting with bimmer fans and check out the rides but I promised my girl that I'd take her shopping (that's the only way she'd let me go to the meet lol).

So, we'll probably just stop by and say hi and took some pics and head off to the city. Still, hope to see you all tomorrow.

Oh and Danny I never got a chance to clean my car, with the bad weather and all... lol.. Just giving you a heads up. ;)
