AW E90 with Fox Red. Picked it up last Tuesday. At 11 miles on the odometer driving east on I-90 and a rock hit the windshield with such force small particles of glass blew all over the dash. Called the dealer, quote for new windshield was $675. Called the tinting shop and they could do it for $349... Take it to the tinting shop on Friday to have the windshield replaced - wrong windshield - sent the windshield for the coupe and not the sedan. Windshield not in until next Friday... Not sure how I feel about this - a bit angry I guess. Did put 900 miles on her before taking it in to the shop and am loving the experience.

Sorry for your quick damage. Don't you have comprehensive insurance that would cover that for like $250?

Mine only took a day to get through VPC and another day to be trucked to Portland. May be longer, though.

Yeah, it's tough. You're looking at about 6/10-15 +/-. Mine finished 2/4 and got it 3/14.

Unloaded at VPC on 5/30, not scheduled to be released to trucking until 6/5.

This last bit of waiting is a killer. Maybe I'll get lucky and get it over the weekend. Fingers crossed.... sacrificing chickens.

Mine is on the boat and should land at the VPC on 6/20. To be honest I am getting kind of used to waiting - not that I like it. I remember the wait for my first M3 (e46) was over 6 months. This wait is about half of that.

Hey Krueger,

I was actaully at Kuni looking at the M3 when you came in to pick up your black M3. I was that guy out milling around looking at your car. Your car was the first M3 I heard running!

On another strange note, I was at Rassumsen taking a test drive and checking out GregW's car on the same day he picked his up. Wow, how strange is that!

Look forward to seeing you both out on the roads!

I finally ordererd last week the 09 - was debating 08 Manual versus 09 with DCT. It's currently a Week 37 Build (Sept).

I'm stuck on the interior color. Currently its Jerez Black with Silver Interior. I haven't seen a lot of M3 pics with this combination.

Any thoughts?

The salesperson told me I still have 1 to 2 more weeks until the specs lock for production.

You might want to look at pictures of Sayemthree's car this will give you a good idea since he has Jet Black with Silver Novillo.

Hate to say this, but if your car was an old Benz or Saab - an aftermarket windscreen and install is fine. But seriously, you're driving an M3 man... pay the extra dough and have it replaced by BMW. Non-OEM glass and small shops (and mass-market franchise windscreen replacements) never end with a good story.

e92 M3, jet black, black novillo extended leather, carbon leather trim, premium pkg, technology pkg, enhanced premium sound, satellite radio, 18" wheels, VentureShield

Live in Bellevue, Wa

Was a total impulse decision. I went to Bellevue of BMW about two months ago with nothing more in mind than wanting to see how the car drove. I had test driven a Jaguar XF (non supercharged) earlier in the morning and wanted to compare. As soon as I drove the M3, it was love.

I went home and within an hour or two I had called the dealership back up. A few hours later it was mine. Probably the biggest impulse decision of my life. Haven't regretted it for a second, though. Now I just need to sell my old WRX.

I've had several non-OEM windshields installed (in other cars) and all of them were perfect. :confused2

Krueger--how's the repair of your car going?

Greg

It is going alright, I got the car back two weeks ago, but brought it to 503 to get some stuff done to it (detail, wheel spacers, etc.) and when I looked at it on the lift, I found out that Kuni hadn't replaced some of the parts that we're dented on the bottom of the car. My SA didn't tell me that the insurance adjuster didn't want to replace those parts because they weren't necessary to the "function" of the car. So I had the insurance adjuster come back to 503 to look at the car and Tim (the owner of 503) is getting it all taken care of now. I also canceled my order on the Remus because it turns out I need a header-back system because some of the mid-pipes were bent a little.

So, I am disappointed somewhat in the service from Kuni because they let the car leave without having everything right on the car.

that's unfortunate. was it Kuni's bad or was it the insurance company not paying for it? perhaps Kuni's hands were tied?

Well, it was partial fault on both sides really. My SA at Kuni didn't tell me that they weren't replacing those pieces so its partially his fault, and partially the insurance companies' fault for not wanting to replace them. All of the pieces are going to be replaced now though, because the insurance adjuster came to 503 Motoring and looked at it again.

I would actually be interested in the pic with the Recaro. My son is 9 months today and outgrowing the infant seat. The Recaro is one of my top choices. Would love to see if in the M.

Thanks.

My son is only 5 months and he received his Recaro early. He doesn't actually use it. I just like it when he sits in it. He won't use until he's 1 years old and over 20 lbs.

I have a coupe. so this will probably look a bit different for you as I noticed you had a sedan. I just placed the Recaro in there so you can see it.

Very nice. Thanks so much! Yes, indeed I have a Sedan. Plus my son needs a seat that car face rearward for the next 3 months before he is 1 year old. I was thinking of the Recaro Signo but I do like the one you have (Young Sport I believe). I may have to get something else for the next 3 months and then get the same one you have.
