So why does it get so much faster after 1200 miles? Does the computer retard the power or sometime or the dealer until then?

My guess (and it's just a guess because I'm only at ~600 miles on mine) is that it's simply because the engine makes most of its power at very high rpm, and you can't wind it that high while you're still in break-in.

Its a big deal because he broke it in per the rules of the 1,200 mile break in. The car doesnt get magically faster he just hasnt gotten on it like this until now.

Just wait, cause the more you drive it the faster it gets. I just crossed the 2,000 mile mark yesterday and the car is faster now than it was at 1,200
