Let the modding begin! First SG I've seen with wheels and lowered suspension.
19" Breyton Spirit wheels
5cm (1.97") suspension lowering/drop (my guess is H&R race springs which give a 50mm drop)

ahh i never the thought of that! I spoke to one of the sellers on the bay and he said they will fit fine.
Id love the 18" wheels but the aftermarkets are so much cheaper. Plus I can sell the ones that come with the E90 on for more money so then I can afford the satNav!!!

Hi Guys,
On request of jwocky, I've registered today on this forum.
So Im a new member, I'm from Belgium and 21 years old. I've allready ordered my E90 320d in Titansilver, with the 'performance' executive package.
That includes : Bi-xenon lights, PDC, sport suspension , sport seats , electronic airco, cruise-control, etc ....
As extra option i've ordered the ALU trim, an black dakota leather.
I did'nt order OEM Alu rims, because these are way to expensive in 18 or 19", but that's my personal opinion.
So what I did is bought myself aftermarket rims in 19", 225/35 front and 255/30 rear. With antracit finish and a nice polished inox lip.
I've attached some pictures of these.
The good news is that my car will arrive next week or the week after :cool!:
Regards
Stijn

Can you please tell me where you've got these picture from????
Because i'm planning to lower my car also and these one is just perfect.
I also like to know how the car exactly is lowered, and maybe contact the owner.
On the numberplate i've think it's also a belgian BMW, with almost exactly the same rims as mine
Kind Regards

Hello Stijn and welcome! The polished dish/lip will look very nice on your titanium silver e90  I will try to find you the link where that picture was posted. The person listed his suspension drop as 5cm (50mm) lowered. H&R has "sports springs" that lower the car by 50mm. See the following thread for H&R suspension information:

Ronsil, the BBS CK wheels you see on the Silver E90 are 19" wheels. (19x8.5 ET35 with 235/35/19 tires). I guess they look big because the spokes come all the way to the ends of the wheel. The car was lowered with H&R springs. I agree, they're stunning wheels.

In my humble opinion, the deep dish looks doesn't look that great with the E90's.
I've looked at all kinds of rims (and I love the deep dish), but for some reason, they just don't look right.
Types of wheels like the Breyton Vision, imo, make the car look a bit more smooth all over.

I have a 330i SG and I'm thinking of replacing my 162's with a 19" Black ACS type IV. Need some help with visuals... ;)

Does anyone else think BBS is jank? Especially for the price, I would maybe pay $100 a wheel. Not impressed by any means, they all look the same!

Research.
BBS is the BMW of wheel manufacturers.
They make the lightest, strongest, best looking wheels and they have been putting them on high performance cars forever.
My 18" RGRs weigh 18 lbs. each. I bought a set of four for $2000. That's cheaper than OEM BMW wheels.
I know they cost more than Chevy Blazer wheels, but c'mon man...

I like BBS. I had some cast 17" RX's, but they were soft and bent.
I don't believe though that they make the strongest or the lightest wheels, but I do think they are a A+ brand, and I would consider them again.

what wheels are those. Black wheels on white look awesome.
So who makes lighter and stronger forged rims?
Volks are lighter and stronger. ADVAN are up there too. The japanese have a superior forge process. I'm not bashing BBS, they have great stuff too, there are just lighter and stronger stuff out there.

The magnesium Volks are incredibly light. Unfortunatly they´re also incredibly expensive and hard to get (not available in europe)
BBS are great wheels and very sturdy. But their mid-range wheels are of average weight, often about as much as the OEM wheels. Only their very expensive forged wheels are realtively light, but they are usually only availabe in 2 or 3 piece designs (which adds weight) and in very big sizes
Do your research man. Many BBS forged wheels, like RGR, are made in Japan to take advantage superior forge techniques.
Many, is not all...man. Plus, BBS Japan may not be the same as Volk Japan in terms of forge technique. I've seen bent LM's. Bottom line, IMHO BBS doen't make THE STRONGEST and THE LIGHTEST rims.

This debate is rediculous. A wheel isn't going to be both the strongest and lightest. Strength and Weight are opposing properties in a case like this. A stonger wheel is going to be heavier in most all cases. You never get something for nothing.

Oh come off it, I was refering to the whole debate, not just your post. Debates like that one just degrade from useful info where people are suggesting quality wheels to buy, to a fight over who's favorite wheel company is best and grand statments about the lightest, strongest, fastest, best looking, etc.

Are you harping on me now?
I was referring my RGRs which are, at the very least, OF the lightest, strongest, and best looking.
Volks may be light and strong, but the pics shown here look better suited on Evos than Bimmers.
And while the Volks may be lighter, how can you say they are stronger? Because you've seen a bent LM? Well, I'm sure someone has seen a bent Volk.
Lastly, this thread is getting ridiculous. We arguing about which FORGED wheels are the strongest! Jeesh!
I was only responding to the guy who didn't know anything about BBS. You certainly can't say a damn thing online without an argument starting.
Let's please just agree that forged wheels are the strongest wheels and put this to bed.

Calm down, NO, I'm not harping on you. I responded with my opinion to your statement about BBS' being the lightest and strongest, that's all. I thought I made clear that I like BBS, didn't want to bash them, and I've had the brand before and would choose again. What did I say to piss on you?
Okay, if you want to believe BBS's are stronger, fine with me. People are entitled to believe what they want, but I'll turn your question around and ask you "how can you say they BBS' are the strongest?" I mean now you say "OF the..." I was responding to your first version.
I don't EVER mean to start a discussion about which thing looks better than what. If you think my rims look better on an EVO, I DON'T GIVE A SHIT. Not going to change my order. I never said anything bad about your setup at all.

Science improves and so do the alloys used in making wheels. They ARE getting lighter and stronger. Unless you do stress and strain tests, there is no way to know who is the strongest. You cant go by word of mouth because if someone says they bought a cheap wheel, hit a pot whole, and bent them, doesnt meat shit. They could have been going 60 and hit a 5 inch deep pot hole. Usually people that spend more money on their wheels (BBS, Volk, etc.) know their value and care more for them, trying to drive carefully and avoid things that could damage them.

I followed a link to see what Volks looked like. Someone posted a model name and I googled it. First pic that came up was on an Evo -- looked fine. I just think BBS look classic on bimmers since I have seen them on bimmers forever. I look forward to seeing your setup.
Peace, Danny.
P.S. FWIW, I think something gets lost on an Internet board. We could've had this discussion in person in about 2 minutes without misunderstanding.
