In my case the brake pedals became rock hard and when you step on it, it doesn't seem to stop well at all. Vacuum pump was replaced but a day later it happened again. The first step seems somewhat okay but any other pump is rock hard. I am lucky I wasn't going down a hill like the original poster on this topic. No fluid on ground at all and no lights.
